I left school, tired. I hadn't had proper sleep since I turned 18. Sleeping is always a big problem of mine since dreams reflect the mood of my soulmate. The pain that my soulmate was experiencing was horrific, just out of this world. I always question what that head of his is thinking, because it partly affects my mental health.

This year is my final year studying at Seoul National University. I can't wait to finally get rid of school life and start working as soon as I graduate. I left the campus and dragged myself to "A Coffee A Day", the cafe I work at, before going back to the apartment Chaeyoung and I decided to rent.

Chaeyoung has been my best friend for 7 years already. It all started when I accidentally crashed into her during high school, and the rest is just history. I would say Chaeyoung has magnificent features. Her long straight chocolate brown hair matches her brown eyes on her delicate face, so much prettier than I am. My frizzy black hair just covers my face and those jet-black eyes of mine look like they could suck up your soul.

I see Chaeyoung waving in my direction holding a coffee mug as I looked in from the window. Her smile never fails to brighten up my mood. I push the door open and returned the smile.

"You're here," Chaeyoung places the coffee mug she was holding earlier on the table and puts her hands on her hips, "and you're late. Care to explain why?"

"Yes I am and don't tell our boss," I whisper.

"You still haven't answered my question, why?"

"Okay fine, I was finishing up the project because my stupid partner doesn't know how to." I roll my eyes being reminded of my classmate.

Chaeyoung let out a chuckle and points to her right. I looked towards that direction and see a boy with his arms wrapped around his head on the table.

Here she goes again.

"This boy has been here for hours. I swear I could hear him sob whenever I got close." She elbows me as I put my apron on. I rolled my eyes at her as I grabbed a towel.

"Mind your own business, Young."

"You're no fun." Chaeyoung frowned and goes back in making coffee.

I turn around to get a sight of the bustling cafe. The cafe hadn't always been this busy, seeing the growth of what was an empty cafe 1 year ago is amazing. Mr. Kim surely is an incredible shop owner. His plan to expand the cafe is a milestone in his business. Chaeyoung and I promised to help with the interior as we both study the subject.

"Seoyeon, Chaeyoung." We both hear a voice coming from the storage room. I turned around to see Mr. Kim instructing us to go over. I exchange confused looks with Young and walked over to the storage room.

"Mr. Kim, is anything the matter?" Chaeyoung asks.

Mr. Kim let out a sigh before speaking. "Girls, I will need to head over to my new cafe for a while. A lot of things need to be done and I hope you guys can take over this cafe for some time while I'm gone." Mr. Kim had his head down, as if he is guilty to bother us during our university life.

I immediately shake my head from side to side. "Don't worry Mr Kim, we will gladly help you out. I'll also ask if Chan wants to lend a hand." I let out a smile.

Chan was a cafeteria mate that always bragged about Australia, he absolutely loves it there. He worked in the cafe a while ago before getting employed at a music production firm.

"How long will you be away for?"

Mr. Kim tilts his head. "Around 3 weeks? I hope you guys can manage. Oh, and inviting Chan is a great idea, he'll be a great help. Either way, thanks for being willing to help me and I suggest you guys get back, the customers are waiting." Mr. Kim points at the line now formed in just 10 minutes.

"Then we'll get back to our work. I'll make sure to keep your shop going while you're gone Mr Kim." I chuckled.

"I'm sure you will."

Chaeyoung and I went back to our positions and I took my phone out to open my chat.

"Well, tomorrow will be fun," I said to myself while I put my phone back in the pocket of my apron. I quickly went back to the counter to assist the customers coming in.

I found myself always gazing in the boy's direction. He stayed very still which makes me start to wonder if he is still alive. Even though he wore a black hoodie, it was obvious that his sleeves were wet from tears.

The softhearted side of mine couldn't bare seeing him in such pain so I head towards his direction to see if he was okay. I pat his shoulder and waited for a response.

"Hey, are you okay? Do you need any help?" I asked.

He slowly lifted his head and turns towards me.

His hair is a bit wavy and well it looks...soft. His bangs covered half of his forehead. A hint of brown glows on his hair from the light bulb above him. He looks fairly handsome and cute.

I moved my focus to his eyes, they are obviously red from crying for too long. They didn't look just sad, they were lost of direction and absolutely empty.

I caught myself lost in those eyes. Even though they are blank inside, they seem to have a glimpse of hope, like they were waiting for a particular person to show up.

I noticed a change in the colour of his eyes

They were turning...

Bumblebee yellow
