I woke up and checked my phone as one does in the morning. 8am. Shit, we'd slept in.

I look over and Lilly's sill curled up asleep, leaning over her, I reach up and open the curtain, it's still raining outside but the wind looks like it's stopped.

"Lilly", I say quietly, gently shaking her. "Lils". She slowly stirs awake so I get up and search her closet.

"Morning Y/n, what tim-what are you doing?", she asks me with a tired smile.
"It's 8, we have to be on set in half an hour, so I'm borrowing some of your clothes".

She nodded to me and got herself up and dressed as well. We hurried to set 4 wand arrived only 5 minutes late.

"Morning girls", Emma came up to us and gave us each a hug. "ready for another day?".

We both nod and she leads us to the hair and make-up crew who are waiting for us.

By the time 12 rolls around, we've already shot 5 scenes. I was sitting with Chris having a drink of water when Eric came through the doors.

"Y/n!!! You ready to go home?"
"Yup, I've got all the essentials packed, with any luck I'll be back in a few days".

I hugged Lilly goodbye and Eric led me to the fancy limousine.

"Get in kiddo and we'll be off".
I climbed in the back and as soon as I sat down my phone buzzed with a message from Lilly.

A slightly taller version of me

On the topic of parents I check messages again but theres still nothing. You would think they'd at least say hi.

I must've drifted off during the ride home, because before I knew it the vehicle had pulled to a stop, gently shaking me to consciousness.

Eric helped my carry up my bags to the door before leaving. I knocked on the door but there was reply from inside. I pushed the handle and it swung open. I could hear muffled voices so I hauled my bags inside and walked into the lounge.

"Y/n!", Dad was the first to greet me. "You had a good time then?".
"yeah it was fun, I didn't hear from you though" I say, hugging mum, who was also in the room.
"We were busy too kid, you're not the only one with a job".

After our short conversation, I walked out of the room feeling deflated. I carried everything up to my room, and went back downstairs.

Both parents were still in the lounge so I went in and sat on the couch. Neither of them seemed to want to start a conversation, and they were both silent on their phones.

"So guys, I need to decide how long I'm staying on set for, it's quite a journey so I won't exactly be popping back home everyday". I say, speaking into the void.

For people who claim I spend too much time on my phone everyday, they're certainly not setting a good example. Neither of them look up, nor show any sign of acknowledging me.
