Y/N's POV

As I blinked awake, I became aware of an unfamiliar weight on top of my head. Realising it was Lizzie, I slowly looked up as to not wake her.

She was fast asleep, her hand was resting on my head. Rather than wiggle out from beneath her, I stayed where I was and waited for her to wake up. While she was in the shower last night I'd flopped on the bed and evidently fallen asleep.

A small guilt crept inside of me, she probably didn't want to wake me last night and I had practically starfished on the whole bed.

A movement from underneath me disrupted my thoughts, as Lizzie slowly stirred awake. I tilted my head upwards and a small smile found it's way on my face.

"Morning", she mumbled, her voice raspy from having having just woken up.

"Sorry for staying here last night, I think I was tired from the park", I apologise, causing Lizzie to frown.

"Don't be sorry, I loved the company", as she said that she wrapped her other arm around me, encasing me in a hug. I breathed in, all I could smell was the comforting vanilla scent of Lizzie.

After a few minutes, both of our phone alarms went off. We reluctantly pulled apart and turned them off. As I checked for new messages, I saw a message from Dad.

The Three Bears

Dad

We're so proud of you
You can send the money straight to my account when you get paid

I sigh at the message, and bury my head in my hands in thought.

"Everything okay?", A concerned Lizzie pipes up from beside me. I debate telling her about it, but they're family issues.

"Yeah, still waking up", I lie, with a breath of laughter. Lizzie still looks concerned, but she doesn't say anything.

We get dressed, and I get changed into Lilly's clothes I wore yesterday, that had now dried.

We had a small breakfast in Lzzie's trailer before heading to set, where as usual, the hair and makeup crew whisked us off to get ready for the cameras.

By 10.00am I was on set, and had already begun a few scenes.

Time Skip

As the final bell rung through the sets, we all dispersed. The day was over, and for the first time in a few days, I headed back to my own trailer.

Being called on and off set all day had given me a chance to think about the whole 'family situation'.

Sitting down on my bed, I pulled out my phone and decided to answer my parents texts.

The Three Bears

Me
I get my first paycheck at the end of this week I think, but I don't know how much it is

I don't think it will be enough to pay off any of the bills
I'm not even living with you guys at the moment

I put down my phone, taking a breath when it chimes with a notification.

Dad
Darling, I thought we already discussed this
You've lived with us you're entire life, costing us more than this house
Anything will contribute to paying this off

I don't want to hear anymore about it, I expect the money please.

Mum

Your father and I have decided you can keep $50 to pay for any food or any surprise costs

You need to be grateful for what you have

After reading that, I put my phone on the counter and curled into a ball under the blankets. So much for sticking up for myself.

Lizzie's POV

Filming for the day ended with the final bell, and Scarlett caught up with me as I walked to my trailer.

"How was work?", she asked me, slinging an arm over my shoulder.

"It was good, I didn't have many scenes today. You?"

"Pretty much the same".

Scarlett and I hung out for the rest of the afternoon, with nothing much else to do than card games and light conversation.

At 6.00 we went over to headquarters for the big dinner. It was served every night, but it wasn't mandatory to attend, though most people would go to find something to eat.

When we got into the warmth of the building, I helped myself to some potatoes and sausages. My eyes scanned the room, landing on Lilly, who was talking to a girl who looked about the same age as her. I went over, introducing myself to the girl and greeting Lilly with a hug.

"Have you seen Y/n?" I ask Lilly, who looked a little concerned.
"Not since the bell, I saw her walking to her trailer and she hasn't answered my texts".
"Do you know if she's okay?"
"I think she has some family stuff going on". Lilly pauses and I stay quiet but she doesn't give anything away. She's a good friend.

I thank her and head out, gesturing to Scarlett that I was leaving. She came over to me and when I explained to her where I was going, she happily agreed to come along".

We trudged to y/n's trailer. When we got there the curtains were open and the lights were out. I knocked on the door, but there was no movement inside.

I slowly turned the handle and stepped in, flipping on the light switch. Y/n's small figure was curled up in a ball under the blankets, and her phone lay unlocked on the counter.

Scarlett turned on the heater, and sat on Y/n's bed, rubbing the small girls back through the duvet. While she did that I curiously went over to Y/n's phone, not to snoop, but just of curiosity.

It lay open on what I presumed was the family groupchat.  I couldn't help my eyes flicking to the messages that showed on the screen. As I read them a sick feeling floated in my stomach. Her family was clearly using her for her money.

I don't understand how parents could do that to their own child. I looked over to Y/n who was slowly waking up with Scarlett beside her. I put down her phone, feeling disgusted, my heart ached for the young girl, and I'll do everything I can to make sure she keeps every cent she earns.

Y/n mumbles something incoherent and Scarlett chuckled, rubbing the girl's arm as she sat up.
"You haven't had lunch or dinner, I'll make you something to eat". Y/n shakes her head, letting out a loud yawn.

"I'm not hungry, but thank you Scar".
"I'll make mac'n'cheese?", Scarlett offers, and at that a slow smile creeps over Y/n's face.
"Thanks"
