Author's Note:

Thank you very much for reading my story. As a novice writer, it brings me joy that you give notice to this small piece of work. I would very much appreciate it as well if I were to receive feedback and comments from my readers as they help motivate me. Anyway, please continue supporting this story and I hope you enjoy reading this chapter. Wah!

Realizing it was not a dream at all really got my blood pumping that morning. I usually had a hard time getting out of bed but this time I quite literally jumped out of it. Before I do anything else, I finished my morning routine. Afterwards, I went downstairs with my grimoire and my laptop.

Since it was a new day, Ina was already streaming some Minecraft when I tuned in. I decided to have her play in the background all the while I scanned my grimoire thoroughly. It felt exciting learning new things while reading it in a new language that you just learnt a few hours ago. I was like a child on a Christmas morning.

Anyway, I didn't bother to eat breakfast as well for I was hungry and thirsty for knowledge. The book had a few hundred pages to go through that contained pretty much forbidden knowledge that will melt the minds of those who read it and drive them to the brink of insanity where they will soon wish to be released from the mortal shell of which is their own bodies. At least, that's what the warning says on the book. But we'll leave existential dread for some other time.

Moving along, the book is divided into several sections: General Information and Studies, think of it as a student rulebook and guide. Witchcraft and Wizardry, containing knowledge of magic and spells. Potion Brewing, self-explanatory. Runes and Rituals, explains the fundamentals of magic circles and summoning. Forbidden Knowledge, consists of blank pages, why am I not surprised. And that's basically everything the book has to offer.

To be honest, I really wanted to try out the spells, but I was currently living with my family so that's a no go. I didn't want them to know about any of this, plus I didn't want anything happening to them or my neighborhood in case my spell goes haywire. With a heavy sigh, I discarded that thought of it. On the other hand, I was able to read most of the book before the day ended.

My mother ended up scolding me because I was, yet again, reading another book too fast. I can't help it since I'm a fast reader. I also got scolded for skipping meals because of reading the book. Basically, I got scolded a lot today because I was so engrossed with reading my grimoire. In my defense, reading it was far better than any textbook I've read.

Finally, the sun had set, and the moon has risen. Nighttime came, and I was more than eager to travel back to the Tentacult Temple. I decided to go to bed early so I can spend more time within that place and not because it was nearing my bedtime, not at all. With that, I laid comfortably on my bed and closed my eyes. But I opened them again because I forgot to recite the incantation needed to access that space.

So, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and began chanting in my head. "May the Priestess of the Ancient Ones grant me blissful slumber. Lull my senses into a state of numbness as my mind descends into the abyss that is my sub conscience. Guide my soul into your sacred sanctuary where I'm destined to be. Wah!" I chanted.

When I opened my eyes, I was back at the temple grounds, to be precise I was standing in the Zen garden just outside the temple doors. I stretched a bit before entering the building, this time with more knowledge and understanding than the last time I was here. Just as I was about to reach for the door, it burst open and shattered.

I managed to protect my head as debris rained over me, the cherry on top was when I noticed the reason for the door shattering. To my side, there was a huge body of something I didn't know about. It twitched a little as it spewed black ooze out of its wounds before fading away into nothing. I stood there in shock and fear, I had no idea what I just saw.
