chapter 20

"we actually- uhm, we were more than friends," he started to get even more flustered, "o-oh ye-yeah?" I nodded, I decided it was best not to tell him that we were dating, instead I decided to tease him, "yeah, tommy..." I took a pause for dramatic effect. I got close to him, close enough that we could kiss if one of us moved wrong. "Tommy we were..." I got even closer, now our lips were almost touching. I could feel the heat from his face pressing against mine, "we uh, we were...."

"We were...?" I smirked, "Tommy, we were.... BEST FRIENDS" i move my face away from his, "wha-" I bursted out laughing. "Oh come on y/n!! Not fair!" i giggled, "okay, well actually we were best friends who eventually started liking each other, i think towards the end we were in a situationship," he brought his hands away from his still blushing face, "a what?" I giggled, "basically we weren't in a relationship, like we weren't dating, but we definitely weren't just friends.." hi sighed, "oh- okay i think i understand now!"

After we laughed for a bit i started thinking, we almost kissed i mean- like actually, in real life- why did we almost kiss? Does he like me? Do I like him? I mean yeah- i guess i do, seeing as the whole thing in my coma- my thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing, "hello?" i didn't even look at the name, "hi dear," it was Ms. Simons, "oh hi! How are you today?" she giggled, "I'm doing alright, just wanted to check up on you and tommy, how are things?" I giggled, "hold on one second, I gotta head outside!" I gestured to the balcony to let Tommy know where I was going, he nodded as I slipped out through the sliding door.

"Sara, do you mind if I ask you something?" she giggled, "of course not dear, ask away!" I sighed, "this is a little odd and kind of out of the blue, but has Tommy ever, and I mean ever, mentioned that he liked me? Like in any way shape or form, even when we were younger?" she laughed, "why did something happen?" i sighed, "uhm, yeah... we almost kissed-" I heard her gasp and laugh excitedly, "oh, well, now let me think, I believe when you were younger, maybe 10? He said something about having a crush on you, and then again a few days ago he was all chipper because your birthday was coming up, so maybe he does still like you dear," a single tear of happiness rolled down my cheek, "thank you Sara, really..!" she giggled, "anytime dear! Bye now, you kids go have fun!" The phone hung up and I went back inside.

"Hey, who was that?" i laughed, "it was your mum, she just called to see how we were doing and what we were up to today, which is why i stepped out, it's sorta a surprise right now, I know I already told you what we were doing, but not all of it!" he sighed, "oh, okay- should we get going then?" I nodded and grabbed my things. "Oh, hey let me go let Clay know that we're leaving!" he nodded as I walked over to the door and knocked. George answered, his hair still a little ruffled, "hey y/n, what's up?" I giggled, "your hair apparently!" He poked his head in the room and fixed his hair. "Okay, well i just wanted to say tommy and I are leaving, I'll have my phone on so just call me if you need me," he nodded and I waved goodbye.
