Within a few seconds, a familiar voice could be heard.
"Pluto?"
From behind one of the trees a person emerged, who, much to my relief, turned out to be Toby. Stumbling forwards, I tried to reach him, but I failed and just started falling towards the ground. Luckily, Toby managed to reach me before I hit the ground, and seconds after, everything went black.
When I awoke, the first thing I noticed was how warm it was compared to where I blacked out. Moving slightly to the side, I realised that we were no longer in a random forest, but in a room that looked like it had been constructed out of entirely wood and bamboo. I assumed that this was the Area 11 dojo from before.
Sitting myself up, it became quite apparent that it was quite late at night. The room was somewhat dark and Toby seemed to be asleep next to me. Picking myself up from the ground, I managed to make my way to the door, which was only illuminated by the small slits of light streaming in from the windows. After fumbling around for a door handle of sorts, I managed to get the door open and stepped into the main room. This was also very dark, but I was able to make out a small, worn out sign that had the word 'girls' scribbled on it, which I decided to head towards.
After walking through the passageway, I reached what was apparently a locker room. However, it looked incredibly run down and didn't look like it had been looked at for a long time. Cobwebs filled every nook and cranny and thick layers of dust were building up on everything. A small hanging light swung slightly, flickering on and off constantly, occasionally sending a small amount of dust to the floor. The air was cool and slightly musky, but the strong scent of decay mostly overwhelmed that. I decided to continue walking on, heading towards to other end of the room.
Luckily, there was another corridor at the end of the room, which, after walking down it, led outside. Once I got out, the cold air hit me like a truck, and voices could be heard near me. There was a swimming pool out here, which also looked like it hadn't been touched for ages. There were small puddles of water at the bottom, with various bits of foliage around it. There also appeared to be a small layer of grime growing. Lovely.
I walked towards a face that surrounded this outside area, and saw the four boys heading inside. Sparkles* was the last to go inside, and I heard the door lock shut afterwards. With this, I hurled myself over the fence and was greeted with the beautiful pool area of the boy's section. It was a polar opposite to the girl's area, with the pool being a beautiful blue colour, which shimmered in the moonlight. It was relatively still, with the occasional ripples sending the reflections everywhere. There was also another cherry blossom out here, which swayed slightly in the wind.
I sat myself down in front of the pool and stared out at the horizon in front of me, letting the breeze flow through my hair. I started to daydream, but was startled by someone sitting down next to me. Turning my head, I could see that it was Toby.
"Are you alright?" He asked. I laughed slightly and subtly shook my head.
"I'm assuming you saw the stupid ceremony. Screaming and seeing possibly dead people doesn't exactly seem alright to me." I said, smiling slightly.
"Yeah, I did see. I've been watching since I, well, died. To... uh-" He started and suddenly trailed off. I turned around and looked at him quizzically, "You know, make sure you were alright and such..."
"Seriously? I can't have been that interesting, those confrontations with Martyn were really only the interes-" I stopped abruptly and suddenly remembered that I'd shouted at Martyn that I loved Toby. "Did you really mean you saw everything?"
"Yeah, why?" He said, looking slightly confused. I turned back to face the pool and rested my head in my hands.
"Great." I muttered. There was a small pause before someone spoke again.
"And for the record, I do too."
I lifted my head up and stared at the horizon in confusion. Whilst I felt my cheeks heat up, I also struggled to form any words. After a few minutes, I managed to talk again.
"That's good to know." I said, and turned my body around to look at him. Our faces were inches apart, and the next thing I knew, our lips were against each other's. I smiled slightly, to which he raised his arms and placed them around my waist. Eventually, my own arms found his neck, and we both lost ourselves in the moment.
After a while we broke apart, still holding onto each other. My face was buried in his hoodie and I shifted my arms so that they were around his back. He started playing with the short stands of my hair, until I found myself getting sleepy for the first time in days. I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, the last few minutes replaying over in my head until I finally drifted off.
