We continued to stare at each other in shock until Sips realised what he was doing, and began to back away, before turning round and running. I was too confused by everything to say or even move myself.

Once I finally snapped out of my daze, I walked over to where Toby’s sword now lay and picked it up. Deciding it would be a good idea to put it away, I put it in the sheath, and started running in the direction we were heading in the first place. If I can find Martyn I might be able to get him to tell me what the heck is going on.

As I was running around the cluster of trees, I grew increasingly concerned by the fact I was beginning to lose control of the air that was coming from my hands. I stopped momentarily, and tried to stop it from happening, but I had no luck, and another large gust of air was sent hurting to the side of me, followed by the sound of a man shouting in confusion. Turning round, I saw a familiar green shirt and red cape emerging from behind a tree.

“Pluto? Was that you?” He asked, with an almost unnoticeable hint of excitement in his voice. I nodded in shock and his mouth moved to create a slightly terrifying smile. “Oh, finally! Well, uh, you might want to practice and try and control it, but it’ll come to you sooner or later. Also, where’s Toby?”

“He was captured by Sips’ friends.” I said, and I saw the happiness drain out of Martyn’s face and his eyes lost his little spark, and it was quickly replaced by fear and anger. He grabbed my arm and started running in direction I had come in, obviously heading towards wherever Toby had been taken.

The route there was relatively short yet my arm continued to hurt, and I was growing more and more concerned about the apparent ability to create wind I now possessed. Looking up, my eyes were immediately brought to the large tower that stood tall in the centre of the compound.  As I continued to walk forwards, my attention still fixated on the tower, I felt my body collide with something, which snapped me out of my fascination. I realised that I had just walked into a fence, which Martyn had apparently already jumped over and had begun running further into the grounds.

Deciding it would be a good idea to do the same, I climbed up onto the wooden fence, and after hearing them creak slightly, promptly jumped down, and caught up with him. The tower continued to loom over us, making us look like small easy prey.

It soon became apparent that Martyn didn’t have a clue where he was heading and was only walking around from the adrenaline to find his best friend. We had gotten to the centre when he suddenly stopped and pulled me to the side, behind on the buildings. He motioned to me to be quiet, when I could just about hear talking in the distance.  Martyn peeked out from the building we were behind and without warning, jerked my arm and started hastily, but quietly, getting away from the building. My arm was in a lot of pain again, and I glared at him before following him.

We continued to head towards the large tower, before quickly ducking into the doorway. I saw Martyn looking outside before turning back round to face me.

“Toby might be in here somewhere. We need to get him out without getting captured ourselves.” He whispered, with a face of determination.

“How exactly are you planning on doing this?” I asked, and he stared back and me, and with the most confident expression I’ve ever seen on him, replied with:

“I have no idea!”

He followed this by heading to the other side of the room; where there was a locked door. Martyn simply pulled a branch out of his pocket and somehow managed to unlock the door. Before I could question every single part of the non-existent logic here, I was dragged into the room, and was met but a seemingly unending flight of stairs. They seemed to continue going down forever, as the light coming through from the door was the only light source we had.

Since we had no choice, we began the decent into the darkness, hoping that the end wasn’t too far down. Once it began to get difficult to see anything, Martyn spoke again.

“What if he’s not down here? They might have killed him!” He said, obviously getting more nervous about Toby.

“He’ll be fine, I’m sure. He’s lucky he’s got a friend like you, always there for him.” I said, trying my best to comfort him, even though I had no idea how to. I was worried about him too, but I never realised how strong their friendship was.

When we eventually reached the bottom, we were enveloped in darkness. It was impossible to see, and neither of us particularly wanted to fall over anything. I decided that standing like a lemon wasn’t going to get us anywhere so I started to move forwards slightly, outstretching my arms so that they would come into contact with a wall before my face. I managed to move about half a metre before I unintentionally shot some air forwards, which hit something with an unenthusiastic poof, followed by the gasping of Martyn.

“That sounded like wood!” He exclaimed, and I heard him running in my general direction before I heard something colliding with the wood that stood in front of me. After a few seconds of squeaky door handle noises, the noise of a door being opened was like music to my ears and light slowly began trickling into the room.

Heading towards the light, I followed Martyn into the room.
