Chapter 20: Hide and Seek

3 days!

It's been 3 whole days since Soobin started avoiding a certain black haired senior. Ever since the incident after Jay's birthday party, there was an invisible barrier between them. The younger was upset and he clearly showed it. Not picking up calls and ignoring messages...  he knew he was damned if Yeonjun ever decided to confront him.

Just like right now, Soobin and Kai were hiding behind a bookshelf after seeing the third-year entering the library.

"What's he doing here? Not like he'd ever read a book.." Soobin whispered in a frustrated matter.

"Ermm... mind telling me why you felt the need to drag me along with you?" Huening Kai asked. Soobin was being suspicious and wouldn't tell him anything.

"I'll you later, Hyuka. And keep your voice down, he might hear you..!"

"I don't get it. Why are you even hiding from him? Last time I asked, there was nothing going on between you two. There clearly is now. What are you hiding from me, hyung?"

"I promise I'll tell you one day... please just be quiet for now"

Huening wasn't satisfied but chose to keep silent. The two waited a long while until Yeonjun finally left. Seemed like he wasn't looking for a book to read. But rather, it was a certain little bunny that was hiding from his master.

The two let out the breath they were holding and made their way back to their desk.

"Well? Anything you'd want to tell me?" Hyuka was getting impatient.

"The thing is..."

Right on time, bell cut him off, signaling the end of the break.

"I'll tell you later. See ya!" Soobin quickly rushed to his class before the blonde haired could push it any farther.

Kai sighed and made his way to class too.

The bell rang again at the end of their final class for the day. Everyone was eager to leave school and finally get some rest. Soobin took his sweet time gathering his stuff slowly. He hated being pushed around in the crowd anyway, so he always preferred to be one of the last students to leave.

Once the noise had died down, Soobin got up from his seat, preparing to leave. But his movements froze as he glanced out the door, seeing someone waiting for him.

"Damn it... I don't think I can outrun him if I dash out right now..."

He considered jumping out of the window. Unfortunately for him, his class was at the fifth floor.

"How did he even get my schedule? This is ridiculous..."

The rest of the students finally left, leaving Soobin all alone in class. Yeonjun seized the moment and walked in, not forgetting to lock the door behind him.

Soobin gulped. He was visibly nervous about what was going to happen. His head was trying to come up with excuses as Yeonjun slowly approached him. The younger looked down at his feet, not daring to meet the fox's gaze.

"Why have you been avoiding me?"  Yeonjun didn't sound pleased.

"What do you mean...? I'm not avoiding you" Soobin's voice came out small. He was scared as heck. His actions obviously had pissed Yeonjun off.

"Not avoiding me? These days, you been running away every time you see me. You never pick up my calls, never reply to my texts... how would you explain that, hah?!" The senior raised his voice, making Soobin wish he would disappear even more.

"I...I'm just busy..sorry"

"Busy? That's obviously an excuse, do you take me as a fool? You should be thankful we're in school right now or else I'd hurt you real bad"

Soobin had never felt more intimidated at that moment. His eyes were still looking down, refusing to face the older.

"Have you forgotten our contract?" Yeonjun continued. "You're my personal servant. Every time I call, you come. Everything I say, you obey. So what is this behavior now? You think just because we had a little argument, you can be a brat like this?"

"If you already know that I'm still hung up on that quarrel we had, you should also understand that I need some time away from you. Why are you still being pushy and forcing me to interact with you??"

"It's been three fucking days, Soobin! Three days I've let it slide and let you be. Isn't that enough time for you? I'm sick of your little hide and seek game"

"If you're sick of me, then let me go already!" Soobin mustered up the courage to look him in the eye now. "If you want someone who can endure your harsh insults, someone who's always willing to strip naked and satisfy your horny self, then I'm not the right one. You'd have better luck finding someone else"

"Look who's talking back now. You think I can't do any harm to you here? Don't forget, I know your deepest secret and even have evidence to back it up. I can leak it anytime I want... if you date to defy me again, just wait and see what happens. And don't say I didn't warn you"

Oh... the secret. That was Soobin's weakness after all.

"No... please don't"

"I'll give you some more time. If you still value your dignity and wish to protect your reputation... then come to my place tonight. If not, then prepare to say goodbye to your friends because once everyone knows.... You'll have no choice but to leave this school. Got it?"

Soobin hated that Yeonjun was right. Everything would be over for him if Yeonjun were to leak his secret.

"I'll be waiting" said Yeonjun with a smirk as he opened the door and left.

Soobin let out a deep breath. He'd never want to get on Yeonjun's bad side again.

Later that night, after finishing his job at crown bar club, Soobin quickly went to Yeonjun's condo as told. He's got a bad feeling, knowing that Yeonjun wouldn't let him off the hook easily. He was bound to be punished in some way.

And knowing Yeonjun, well... it goes without saying what kind of  treatment he'd be receiving.

Nevertheless, he couldn't just say no with his reputation on the line. He'd rather suffer this one night than having everyone bullying him for the rest of his life.

With shaky hands, Soobin pressed the doorbell and waited with his heart pounding loudly against his chest.
