It took quite a while for the candle to burn out, but it eventually did. Melted wax dripped down on Soobin, leaving his pale skin reddened and marked. Yeonjun looked down at him, his gaze cold and indifferent, not a trace of sympathy flickering in his eyes. He then simply untied the bindings securing Soobin's slender wrists and ankles to the table, granting him proper freedom of movement again. Right after that, Yeonjun turned to leave, but Soobin's voice held him back.

"Are you still mad?"

Yeonjun took a deep breath before replying. "We can end this, Soobin. I'm letting you go, free from all of this. You don't have to be my sneaky link anymore."

'He's not just angry', Soobin thought to himself. 'He totally hates me.' Yet he wasn't ready to give it all up.

He rose, facing the older man with defiance. "And what if I refuse?"

Yeonjun paused, but his face remained unreadable. Soobin continued, "When I wanted to end things before, you told me that both of us had to agree, that I couldn't leave if you don't say so. Now, this time... I'm the one who disagrees"

"What are you playing at? Don't you hate me enough to want whatever this is to be over?"

"That was in the past! But now... I can't walk away from you. I just can't." Soobin reached out, wrapping his arms tightly around Yeonjun, uncaring of whether he might push him away.

"I know you're angry and disappointed... I understand if you want to leave me, but please listen—I'm being honest with you. Last night, I just drank a bit too much, I had no idea what I was doing ... but I never intended to 'cheat' on you, hyung. And... we didn't even go that far. That's the truth... please, believe me. Nothing happened between us beyond the boundary of a work relationship"

"Soobin, I don't understand you. What the hell do you want?!"

"Punish me however you see fit... I deserve it. But don't make me leave. Please... I can't stand being away from you..."

"Why?"

"Because I love you," Soobin thought, unable to bring himself to say it aloud.

With no answer, Yeonjun assumed the worst. "Ah, I get it. Because I know your secrets, isn't it? Or is it the money? You still need my support... right, that's all it is."

"No matter the reason... all I know is I want to stay with you, to serve you, to be by your side... Please?"

Soobin didn't know where the courage had come from, only that he couldn't bear to let this moment slip away. He would regret it forever if he stayed silent and let Yeonjun walk out.

If anyone had told Soobin from six months ago that one day he'd be standing here, pleading a third-year dance student named Choi Yeonjun not to leave him, he would have laughed his mouth off.

The strength of his embrace grew, as if words alone were no longer enough to convey the weight of his feelings.

"Please don't go... I need you."

Finally, Yeonjun's cold facade broke, and he turned to hug Soobin back fiercely. His left hand held the younger's head close to his chest, while his right arm wrapped tightly around his waist. Soobin held him just as firmly, both of them silent, listening to the synchronized beat of their hearts.

The fear of losing one another pulled them together, binding the two men in an intertwined grasp that couldn't be easily released. Even without speaking, they both knew how deeply they meant to each other.

"I don't want to lose you, Bin," Yeonjun murmured softly.

"Neither do I... I want to be with you... always," Soobin replied in genuineness, not minding to expose the attachment he'd kept locked away for so long. At least Yeonjun had told him he didn't want to lose him—could that mean there was a chance his cold-hearted senior cared for him in return?

Soobin didn't dare hope too much, but even so, he was overjoyed that Yeonjun thought of him as someone important. Even if it was only as a sneaky link, he was happy to have this place in Yeonjun's heart, without anyone else in between them.

"I'm sorry again, I'm really—" Soobin began, but his words were cut short as Yeonjun pulled him into a deep kiss. Soobin's eyes widened in surprise; he hadn't expected this.

"I'm tired of hearing apologies from you. This time, let's just leave it at that."

Soobin broke into a bright smile. Yeonjun looked at the wax marks still on Soobin's delicate skin.

"Still hurting?"

Soobin shook his head. "It's all fine now, but earlier... I thought I was going to get scorched to death, like a witch."

Yeonjun gave him a gentle pat on the head. "Maybe I was a bit too harsh—"

"No! It's okay. I probably deserved it," Soobin quickly replied. Yeonjun chuckled at the younger man's endearing honesty.

"I promised your mother I'd look after you. Yet somehow I've made you cry more than I've made you smile... Are you sure you want to stay with me?"

Soobin blushed, remembering his own words. "Yes... I'm sure."

Yeonjun cupped his soft cheeks in his hands. "You're mine."

"I already am... only yours."

Their lips met once more. Yeonjun's strong tongue traced his way into Soobin's mouth, filling all the spaces between them. Soobin let out a soft moan, his arms encircling Yeonjun's neck, holding on tightly.

After savoring each other for a moment, they locked eyes. Without saying anything, they knew exactly what they both wanted. Yeonjun scooped Soobin up, Soobin wrapping his legs around his waist and his hands resting on his shoulders. Then, Yeonjun carried him to the bedroom.

He laid Soobin gently on the bed, and soon, their passionate connection reignited.

Talk about toxic codependency, smh. Don't try this at home, kids.

The worst part is that Soobin believed he deserved all that. Poor baby.

On the bright side, at least they made up :D
