Just as things started to get spicy, the infirmary door slid open.
"Is Taehyun he- AHH! What the heck is going on here?! Spare my eyes!!!"
A blonde Huening Kai came in after hearing his cousin was headed to the infirmary — only to met with such an unholy sight.
Taehyun was leaning on top of someone Kai could recognize but didn't know the name of, their position suggested they were doing things he shouldn't have walked in on — and it was definitely not something that should be done in the infirmary.
The two got up from the bed in an awkward manner and fixed their clothes.
"What are you doing here, Kai?" Taehyun sounded pissed his little intercourse got interrupted.
"Just... I wanted to check on you. Heard you got injured so I came here"
As much as the youngest wanted to ignore the elephant in the room, he couldn't.
"By the way, don't you owe me an explanation here? Who is this?"
Taehyun casually flung an arm around Beomgyu's shoulder and pulled their bodies side my side. "Choi Beomgyu. My boyfriend"
Both Kai and Beomgyu were equally surprised at the statement.
'Did Taehyun just introduce me as his b-boyfriend?! Did I hear that right? God I'm going crazy..' Beomgyu panicked in his head.
"Oh.. uh.. I see" Huening Kai stepped back. "Continue whatever you guys were doing then.." he reached the door yelled
"Don't forget to use protection!"
He dashed away after that.
The pair was left alone again, the tension between them returned once more. But something shifted in the air this time, they both could tell.
"Tae.. um.. what did you just call me earlier? My ears weren't working properly, right? There's no way you'd..."
"And if I did?"
Taehyun stared deep into the older's brown eyes, his gaze serious and unfazed. Beomgyu didn't know how to react to the sudden change.
"If I asked, would you agree?" Taehyun continued.
"But- I mean- didn't you hate me? When we were together, you were forced to.. and .. you literally rejected me. You said you had no feelings at all"
"Idiot. If I didn't have feelings, I wouldn't have dirtied my lips with yours" Taehyun looked away bashfully with pink cheeks.
Beomgyu's brain took a while to process that information.
"So that means you... like me too?" His mouth hung open. THE Kang Taehyun liked him back? It would be more believable to say it was a dream.
"I don't know I... just want you close to me. Want you to be mine" Shy Taehyun still refused to look at him. It was a new side Beomgyu had yet to see until now.
After a suspending silence, their eyes met. "If possible can we... maybe get back together?" Taehyun asked, pink hues still visible on his face. "For serious this time, unlike before"
"Snap out of this dream right now stupid Gyu! In no possible universe would Taehyun ever say this to you!" The black haired slapped his own cheeks repeatedly, trying to wake up from what he assumed was a dream. Too bad his cheeks actually hurt and he was not waking up.
"Stop hurting yourself, you fool" Taehyu grabbed both Beomgyu's hand to stop him from abusing his cheeks. "I'm asking for real, you're not dreaming, alright?"
In Beomgyu's head, this was too good to be true—but it was. And now he had to make a decision.
His heart has been longing for the man in front of him for so long and nothing was ever going to change that. But there was a tiny thought in the back of his mind that pitied Heeseung. Heeseung who always cared about him, who comforted him during the times he was hurting, in contrast to Taehyun who had hurt him once and twice.
How could he choose?
But he also knew, what he felt for Heeseung was simply pity and friendship. It was different with Taehyun. After all this time, Taehyun was still the one he loved.
"I'm asking once more. Will you be my boyfriend?" Taehyun asked.
"Yeah. Of course I'd say yes" Beomgyu smiled.
Taehyun felt relieved after hearing that answer. There was a chance he could lose Beomgyu and he was glad that wasn't the case.
The two embraced each other's warmth, bathing in love they both longed for.
"I can't believe it... am I this lucky?" Beomgyu muttered on Taehyun's shoulder.
"Of course. From now on, you're mine, kay? I don't want you playing around with others anymore. Or else I'd get mad"
"Heheh" Beomgyu chuckled. "Jealous Taehyunie would be so cute, though. If this is a dream, please don't wake me up"
"I told you this is not a dream! Why do you still insist it is?"
"Sorryyy. It's just, it's hard to believe, you know"
"Let me be honest, though" Taehyun said. "I'm not good at this... relationship thing. So don't expect too highly of me and don't be disappointed if I'm bad at showing affections... I'll try my best, though"
Beomgyu nodded. "I know you will, Taehyun"
"Oh and- can we keep this low key?"
"You just told Kai though?"
"He's my cousin, it's fine. I know he won't run his mouth"
"Then, can I tell my best friend? I don't wanna keep secrets from him"
"Who?"
"You know Yeonjun?"
Taehyun almost rolled his eyes, but chose to not to. He did not like Yeonjun. But it wasn't a surprise, considering he had problems with almost half of the university's population.
"Yes, I'm familiar. You can tell him. I'm just concerned over your safety, since there's people out there who won't be happy with us being together"
"Aw, I'm glad you care about me"
"And I'm sorry. For everything bad I've done before" the white haired continued "I know I've made mistakes and I've made you cry. I can't promise everything will be sunshine and rainbows from now on, but like I said, I'm willing to be a good guy this time, for you"
Beomgyu couldn't hold back his smile after hearing those words from the cold fairy's mouth.
"But it's kinda weird" Beomgyu said "I thought you hated me, and now you're asking me to be your lover? Are you sure it's not a prank?"
"Don't trust me?"
"It's not like I don't... it just doesn't feel right"
"I never hated you. I just pretended to. I didn't want to like you, I didn't feel ready to experience love. But after seeing you with that guy, I just realized it was too late and I've already fallen and couldn't stand seeing you with him. Do you get it?"
Beomgyu laughed. "Then we better thank Heeseung later"
"...How are you planning to break the news to him?"
"With honesty. I'm sure he'd understand"
Taehyun nodded. "Alright"
The two shared a loving smile and quick kiss before going home together.
