Letters From Afar

Mia's POV.

I've come a long way. A mate that didn't want me, a pack that didn't accept me. But that all has changed. It's been three years now and although everything is right with the pack, still enemies rise and fall. And every now and then we receive letters from Matthew telling us that he still hasn't found his mate and that he will not stop looking that was about a month ago. There haven't been a word since.

The pack has grown, there's more children and there's currently two of them sitting in the living room floor playing with blocks. I hear there bickering from the kitchen. "Boys please play nicely." I turned back to the stove as I was preparing the meal for today. Eric and Chirsty are coming over just kind of sad that we won't be having Matthew and Ann here with us. But I can't get let that stop me from being with the ones that love me.

I miss my best friend and I've asked Anthony if there is any word from Matthew, but he just shake his head. Last we heard from him he was going into Colorado then the letters stop. I can't let that get me down because I know that when Matthew finds them, they wished that they never messed with his mate in the first place.

The front door open and I smiled because the boys started to scream "Daddy," hearing him grunt once they were on him. I place the stove on low, clean my hands and walked to where they were at. I smiled at them as Steven and Mark was barking at their dad about what they did today. Once Anthony saw me there was no denying the love that his eyes had for me.

"Okay, boys let daddy go and you guys go get ready for dinner." I said and they obey and went running down to the lower bathroom. Slowly Anthony walked toward me with a look of determination over his face. "You know at first I was scared of that face."

"Really." He whispers his mouth inch from mines. He pecks his lips on mine and I wanted to deepen the kiss, but the boys were back walking into the dining room to help with setting the table. His body pushed against mine and I knew where he wanted to take this, but we weren't alone. I smiled at him and wink letting him know that later we will be alone and will have fun.

I removed myself from him, much to his disappointment and went to the kitchen to start dinner. That didn't stop him from following me. Before he can start what, he couldn't finish the boys made their way into the kitchen and attack their dad and drag him to another room, while he was screaming that he needed help. I shook my head, declining the offer and was about to continue on in the kitchen when I heard the flap on my front door tap down.

I walked over to the front door and picked up the mail. Flipping through it I notice a nice handwritten envelope with one word Alpha I didn't even wait to give it to him. I just opened it and began to read.

Dear: Alpha or Luna,

I'm writing this letter to let you know that I'm okay. My search will continue. I hope that I'm not disappointing you or the Luna in any way. If I am, then I'm sorry. Please forgive me, but understand that I can't just let my mate, Luna's best friend be out here to defend for herself. I help you look and found your mate, and I know I should have waited for back up, but my wolf got the best of me and wanted to go now. Please don't hold nothing against me, and at this moment I just need a friend. I'm in Northern Colorado and I don't know where I'm going to end up at but know that I'm not going to leave her out here and I'm going to do right by her.

I'll write again, keep a look out.

Matthew.

I walked into the study and place the open letter on Anthony's desk. He probably read it tomorrow. As I made my way out the room. Anthony meets me halfway. "What you had in your hand there?" He asked looking at my hands. I held them up to show him.

"A letter." I spoke. He instantly knew who it was from.

"He's okay." he said.

"Yes, he said to not hold nothing against him, and that he should have waited for back up, but his wolf got the best of him and to stay alert." I finished. He was in thought. He nod his head in understanding, grab my hand and made our way to the table that was already made.

Anthony's Pov.

Knowing that Matthew is out there, alone and without his pack makes me feel like I let him down. There's one thing I know about him is that he's not going to stop looking for her. Even if it takes him years. And I will always have our doors open and nobody is going to take him spot as Beta. At least I know that's his okay. I know that he will eventually get in touch with me. Our link is momentarily disconnected, at least for now.

Of course, I'm going to scowl him when I do see him, but for now the letters will do. My Warriors will be ready, and something is telling me that is sooner rather than later.

Matthew's POV.

I did not anticipate snow, lots of snow at that, this wasn't the type of clothes that I should of pack. Matter of fact, I didn't know what to pack. I just grab a bag and pack away without realizing the weather condition out here. This what happens when you're in love and you have a mate that you have to save. Nobody in their right mind is going to think straight. Nobody. The heart is an evil muscle that takes over your body and soul and manipulate everything, making you the manipulator and bad guy.

I didn't know where to look, who to talk to? Who pack territory I'm going through. All I know that I have to find her, and by the look of all this damn snow I have to do it quickly. The sun is setting, and the wolf are already howling. They smell me but at this moment I'm not worry about myself. I'm worry about my mate.

The light of day was gone, and the paws are hitting hard on the ground. I anticipated a fight, but not this early on though. I stood still knowing if I moved, they would attack. They were not the same ones that went to are pack, the smell is different. I was in my thoughts when I realize that I was surrounded. I looked around and found the Alpha, and this I know because the Alpha are always the tallest weather, they are in wolf form or human.

"Well, what brings you here?" The Alpha tone slipping out.

I dared not to look around. One fault move and I could die. I lifted my hands and received snarls from the pack. They are watching my moves.

"My mate was taken. I came from very far; her scent stops here." I said looking directly at him. There's no nervousness in my voice. His eyes open wide maybe not at the proclamation that I come from far, but because of the mate statement.

"Mate." Not a question. "They are at it again, huh."

"They? So, you know them?"

"I'm Emmanuel. I'm the eldest brother of your mate's abductors."

The End.

Author note: This story ended 6|13|21. Life got in the way. I already had it written out, I just forgot to update. I totally forgot about it. I stopped reading and written, and I kind of lost my touch in the writing. I don't know if I will come back to it. The only reason this story is done is because the drafted was saved and finished. Thank you if you did make it this far.
