It's been 3 months since Dansby and I's baby girl, Hannah Grace, was born, and I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. He was an amazing dad, even if he had to be on the field, he still made an effort to be with her. He was an even better husband and was extremely supportive during and after the pregnancy, always helping out, something I was very grateful for, knowing he was a busy man.

The team, the Atlanta Braves, hadn't met Hannah and they were eager to meet her but I was a little hesitant due to her being a literal newborn, and feeling overwhelmed with the amount of attention she was receiving. When I told Dansby this, he was a little sad, but understood my concerns; That was when she was only a week old, and today, I was thinking about it and how she's probably ready to meet them.

I waited until Dansby arrived home from his practice at Truist Park to let him know I thought that Hannah was ready to meet his peers. I heard a car park in our garage and I immediately went down to our lounge room in the basement to watch TV like I always did. I heard our door open and immediately I heard the sweet voice of my husband

"Nicole, honey, I'm home! Where are you?" He spoke loudly in the house, startling me as I heard it.

"I'm in the lounge room, watching our show!" I teased, knowing he'd come running down thinking I betrayed him by watching it without him

"What?!" He ran down the steps "Nicole! Don't mess with me like that!" He playfully yelled, bending down to give me a kiss, "How was your day?  I guess not too interesting without me here?" He asked, teasingly

"It actually was amazing since you weren't here," I said, and Dansby looked offended "But, other than that, I need to talk to you about something." I continued and my husband put on a serious face, sitting on the couch, next to me.

"I think that Hannah Grace is old enough to meet the tea-" Before I could finish, he started celebrating, "Shh! She's sleeping, you don't want to wake her up, she was in a mood today." I abruptly said

"Seriously, Nicole? You really think she's old enough to meet them?"

"Yes, I've been thinking about it the whole day, I'm ready Dansby."

For the rest of the night, that's all he was thinking about. Tomorrow, he had a game at home and I was going to go and after the game I'd come to the dugout and have the team meet her. I was kind of excited too, the only ones who've met my girl was my in-laws, my parents, my brother and Dansby's brother and sister. We went to bed that night excited for what could come the next day.

I had my own suite in the park that my husband was playing in, I was dressed in light colored jeans, a tank-top, and a Braves jersey with Swanson on the back of it, I was purposefully matching with Hannah Grace. They were gong against the Astros and I tediously watched the game with Hannah Grace laying in my lap, literally falling asleep. Before I knew it, it was the bottom of the 9th inning and the score was 5-2, Braves. Once the game was over, I waited until the stadium cleared out a little to walk down to the dugout.

I met up with Dansby and greeted him with a kiss,

"Hey, good job, honey. You did great." I praised,

"Thank you, baby. Are you ready? They have no idea."

"Yes, I think so."

And with that, he took Hannah Grace by her arms and held her on the side of his torso, and on the other side was me. I didn't know his teammates all too well, considering I was pregnant for the entirety of his season; So you could say I was nervous to formally meet them to see what they'd think of me.

"You guys, this is my daughter, Hannah Grace, and my wife, Nicole." My husband said, and hearing the words "My wife" and "Nicole" in the same sentence still made my heart flutter after being married for such along time.

Immediately, the wives and players gushed over our baby and I couldn't help but smile, I looked over to Dansby and he was leaning in to kiss me, and I kissed him back.

He whispered in my ear, "I can't wait to do this again with our next baby."

I hope you liked this! It was fun to write, and I loved the storyline.
