Working in baseball had always bee a dream for me, I'd gained a love for it since my brother, Manny, had been into it when we were growing up. Obviously, that worked out well for him, and since I was his "personal trainer" through all of it, I was asked to aide the players if they needed it from his MLB team, the Padres.

I've been working on this team for a few years now, and I've got to say that it's everything  I could ever dream of. This was something that I've loved since I was a little girl and I actually got to pursue it.

Over the few years, I've gotten close with many of the players, some more than others. They make me feel like I'm apart of the team, and when someone leaves to go play for another clubhouse, I feel sad, almost as if I was their teammate. I'd gotten very close with Fernando Tatis Jr., and this closeness turned into a romantic relationship.  I'm so lucky to have him in my life, and I thank my lucky stars that I was given him. I've also gotten close with Juan Soto, we have had a strictly platonic relationship, even when Tatis and I weren't together. But as you can assume, Tatis did not understand this.

present day - 6/5/23

Soto and I are training in the Padres' gym because he had been out on injury, so we're just sparring on the mat. Obviously, since we're close, we are going to joke around.

He found a vulnerable spot and punched me in my side. It didn't hurt, but I acted like he winded me.

"Oh, are you okay Bárbara? I didn't mean to punch that hard!" He exclaimed, worried for my wellbeing.

"I cannot believe you would do that!" I sarcastically yelled, resulting in a gentle smile from him.

"Alright, you got me there!"

We stopped and laughed with each other for a minute, until going back to sparring.

We both cracked a few jokes during the time, which resulting in either laughing fits, or just giggles.

Ending the session, we laid out on the mat, together, not touching each other, but just sitting in each other's silence.
Unbeknownst to my knowledge, Tatis had been periodically watching us train, crack jokes, and laugh with each other. Obviously, I had nothing to hide, I was happily in love with Tatis and I'm not the cheating type.

Although Tatis may trust me, he's an extremely jealous person.

Soto and I said our goodbyes, but I was the first to walk out of the gym. As I opened the door, I was greeted with a familiar face, Fernando. He was angry, no-- frustrated. Both maybe.

"Hey-" I tried to talk, but was pulled away and pushed up against a wall.

"What are you doing? Are you seriously cheating on me with him?" He pestered

"Wh- What?! You can't be serious!" I replied, absolutely shocked

"Are you?"

"No! Absolutely not. I'd never do that to you, I love you."

"I love you too."
