Alice woke up with a gasp, it was darker outside than when she had fallen asleep for her nap. She remembered everything from the dream, Katy and she had talked at great lengths. It was amazing to catch up with her, especially in the world of dreams, she couldn't believe that Cat's brother was alive and the amazing adventure they had been on. They had talked for a long time, but Alice realized that time didn't work the same as it did in the waking world. What had seemed like a full day of talking, was in fact only a few hours in real life.
"You realize what you will have to do? Hatter won't be pleased, are you going to tell him?" Jabber spoke inside of Alice's mind, it was almost like she could see his raised eyebrow.
"How do you even know about that, can you see my dreams?" Alice wondered, there was still so much she didn't know about the bond between them. She was sure she would be discovering new things about the bond quite often. Still, what he asked was a good question.
"Not usually, it depends on the situation, and I think this one was filled with enough emotion for you to pull me in there with you. I can tell that you are struggling, but you know that Hatter will try to prevent you from doing what you have to if he knows. He loves you enough to not want to put you in that kind of danger, I can tell how much it bothers him to let you go into battle in the first place." Jabber reasoned, it was almost as if he was encouraging her to go without letting him know.
How could she do that to him though? It would feel as if she was trying to abandon him, or running away. Yet, Alice knew that what Jabber was saying was true, this decision would not be easy.
"What do you think I should do Jabber? I... I can't do this to him, do you know what it will do to him if he thinks I betrayed him?" Alice worried as a tear fell down her face. As she was speaking with him, she was already getting some of her things in the bag and preparing to leave.
"I know this isn't easy for you, Alice, but it is necessary, I'm afraid. Once Hatter knows the reason why, he will understand, besides he will try to think of a different solution, and we simply don't have time for that. You know what you have to do, the reason you're upset is that you have already decided what to do." Jabber counseled, his voice a little sad, feeling her sadness pouring through the bond.
"You're right, I know you are, I can't believe I'm doing this. I know, I'll leave a note, with a little explanation, that way he knows a little bit of what is going on." Alice quickly got a notepad and pen and started writing a quick note.
"Remember, don't give too much away, you know he will come after you if he knows where you are going." Jabber reminded, warning her to keep it short.
"Yes, yes... I know." Alice stated somewhat in irritation but was mostly distracted as she finished writing the short note. She read it over quickly to make sure it sounded alright.
My Dearest Love,
What I do now, is for the good of Wonderland. I'm sorry I can't tell you more or explain what is going on. Just know that we will see each other soon, and I love you more than words can say. By the way, Jack Heart is alive, he was under a spell and is now free, he is with Harrison and Cat. Move out tomorrow for the valley, can't tell you more, just trust & believe in me, as I do you.
All My Heart,
Your Love, Alice
"Hurry Alice, I hear voices coming, still a good 30 feet away but getting closer. Get your things and let's go!" Jabber insisted urgently, his whole body going on alert.
"Coming!" Alice exclaimed, grabbing her bag and slipping out of the tent. Rushing, around the tent, she saw Jabber already ready and waiting for her to climb aboard. Quickly she got on and motioned for Jabber to go.
