synopsis: a detrimental act leads to life-threatening consequences

"I won't let you go!" Y/N stood in her pyjamas and fuzzy socks as she glared up at him, her arms crossed trying her best to look intimidating. The reality of it was that she was a foot shorter than him.

"Y/N, my love, I am done with this conversation." Harry put his belt on and opened the safe where he kept his guns.

"No you can't leave, if you leave then I'm leaving with you!" She yelled.

They had been arguing for the last ten minutes and Harry was meant to leave twenty minutes ago with the rest of the gang. They were currently waiting outside the meeting room, listening in on the argument between the two lovers and placing bets as to who would come out on top.

Harry's eyes darkened at the thought of her coming with him to a shoot out against a rival gang they were currently at war with. The plan wasn't to have a shoot out but Harry was smart enough to know that it was. They were meeting to negotiate terms but no one would ever agree to do that in this lifetime. Gangleaders wanted nothing but power, it was survival of the fittest all the time.

"Y/N I have enough to think about as it is. If you think I'm letting you get ANYWHERE NEAR THOSE FUCKERS, THEN THINK AGAIN." Y/N's breath hitched, her eyes filled with shock and fear.

She wasn't afraid of him but she hated when he raised his voice when he was angry. "That protection you feel right now, is exactly what I feel for you. Take me with you or stay home."

He was surprised she hadn't backed down. Normally, she always agreed with him no matter what he said. He couldn't seem to disagree with what she said, he understood where she was coming from but he also had to do his job.

Harry had felt nothing but deep rage the last time he faced the leader of their rival gang, the Iliad. He was coming home with Y/N after he took her out to dinner at a restaurant on the surface but their journey was halted when one of the members had stopped the car and held a gun to Y/N's head.

She could barely sleep for days after. Harry had to hold her in the night and try to lull her to sleep. He wouldn't let the same thing happen again, he wouldn't let anyone touch her again even if that meant risking his own life.

"Baby," He sighed and perched on the arm of the couch, "C'mere." He pulled her into him and held her. She hid her face in his neck and he could feel her tears against his skin as he rubbed his hand up and down her back.

"I just don't know what I'd do if they came back with you in pain." She whimpered.

He lifted her hands to put around his neck and held her as tightly as he could. "I know," He whispered, kissing her shoulder, "I know."

"Please don't go," She kissed him, he could taste the saltiness of her tears on his tongue.

He looked up at the ceiling and squeezed his eyes shut, "Baby," He sighed and she could already tell that he wasn't planning on letting up anytime soon. "I promise nothing will happen to me,"

She stepped away and looked away from him, "Fine." She murmured. Harry sighed deeply. "Go."

"Y/N," He reached for her but she stepped away.

Harry's heart pinched but he didn't have the time to comfort her. He would do that once he knew she was safe from a gang that was constantly using her to get to him.

He put his gun in his holster and locked the safe, putting his jacket on to conceal it. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, "I love you." He murmured.
