You weren't meant to be sad or angry or jealous or stressed. That was the reward you got for being a good person- an eternal life with eternal happiness.
The light shone through the blinds of Y/N's cottage home, indicating the morning had finally arrived and another day had begun. "Nooooooo," Y/N groaned when the light hit her closed eyes and forced them open.
Another day was upon the angels of Heaven, and Y/N couldn't help but feel repulsed by it. Time had passed - slipping through her fingers like tiny grains of sand. She had fallen asleep. Time had been wasted and she desperately needed to hold onto it.
She sat at the kitchen island, since her small home had no room for a desk. Papers were sprawled out in front of her. Her notebook she only planned to rest her head on for a short moment, ended up becoming her pillow for the remainder of the night and now had a spot of drool on the paper, smudging some of her scribbled notes.
She couldn't help but glance at the calendar, hung up on her fridge with a pink magnet. She nearly cried when she saw the red cross marked down in the box of tomorrow's date. She only had another twenty-four hours and she was nowhere near finished.
"This is not good," She gathered her papers and put them into a messy pile in the centre of the kitchen island. She needed to gather her thoughts and structure out her day but she couldn't string anything together.
A heavy knock sounded at the door and, the deep grumbles followed by a string of curses made her dizzy thoughts disappear for a short second. She slipped down from the tall chair, her bare feet touching the cold tiles of the kitchen floor.
She opened the door to reveal her favourite demon who also happened to be her boyfriend. He smiled, sharp teeth on display. His hair was a mess like he had just woken up and his first thought was to climb up to the place he hated most just to see his best girl.
Y/N said nothing as she rushed to bury her face in the warmth of his neck and wrap her arms around his big, muscular torso. Strong arms wrapped around her in return, a small kiss placed upon her forehead as she closed her eyes in bliss.
"Hi my little dove," His deep, morning voice grumbled.
"Hi Harry," She sighed, the stress she had woken up with this morning slowly drifted to the back of my mind the longer he held her.
"I bought you some breakfast." He held up a basket and saw the fresh pastries inside. "Got them for free too. All I did was smile and the ghastly angel boy handed them over to me."
Y/N tried not to laugh. Harry had become a regular visitor in Heaven since they began seeing each other. However, that didn't mean people had grown accustomed to his presence. He was a dark cloud in the bright lights of Heaven but to her he was excitement, lightening in her belly and the type of cosiness the rain brought with it in the middle of winter.
