Delilah Parker

I heard footsteps coming down the hall. Knowing it was Nia I pulled the covers up over my head. I felt her sit on the couch and pull at the covers.

"Delilah."

"What Nia?"

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." I said pulling the covers from her.

"If that nigga did something just know I'll bust em." I rolled my eyes.

"I know." She got quiet. I peeked out from under the covers and looked at her.

"What is it Nia?" She bit her bottom lip while she played with her fingers.

"Well, Willie is coming over and he's kind of bringing him with him." I got up, slanging the covers off of me.

"Then I'm going home." I grabbed my car keys and picked up my shoes heading towards the door. I opened the door and walked out.

"Deli wait.." was all I heard before slamming the door.

Willie Maxwell •

"Just come on buddy. I'm just going to Nia's house."

"Is Delilah going to be there?" Tavaris asked from the other line. I sighed,

"Buddy, I do not know. Probably she will, probably she won't." I heard him sigh.

"Alright alright, be over here in 20." I hung up and got in the car.

* 20 Minutes Later *

"I'm outside."

"Alright." I looked up to see Tavaris coming out the door. He got in and I backed out his driveway.

Nia Harris •

I heard knocking at my door. Me being me, I thought it was Delilah coming back. I swung the door open, smiling. Only to see Willie, my smile grew wider.

"Hey." I blushed.

"Wassup." Next thing you know, Tavaris slid from behind Willie like them old school dance groups when they be sliding across the stage.

"Aye um, Delilah here?" I crossed my arms.

"No." He nodded.

"Okay."

"Um, y'all come in." They stepped in the house while I closed and locked the door behind them. I clapped my hands together.

"Well, make y'all selves at home."

Delilah Parker •

I was laying in bed, when my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID. It was my mom, I smirked to myself and swiped right to answer.

"Hey mama."

"Hey baby, what you doing?"

"Just laying here." She chuckled.

"Surprised your not playing basketball Delilah." The line got quiet, except her talking to someone in the background. That voice sounded so familiar.

"Mama who is that?"

"Oh baby, I forgot to tell you. Trenton is in town." My whole heart skipped a beat, literally almost stopped.

Flashback:

"Mama, just go on ahead. We'll be fine." She nodded.

"Oh alright, y'all be good you hear." I nodded.

"We will mama." I said as I kissed Trenton on the cheek. As soon as momma left, I was slung onto floor.

"Now, what I said about not telling me when yo' mama be over here huh?" He wrapped his hand around my neck and squeezed. I started to cry and gasp out.

"I'm sorry Trenton.. I'm sorry." He let go of me and grabbed my hair.

"Now go make me something to eat, I'm hungry. It better be what I like to or it wont be choking next time." I nodded. Later that evening mama had came home and Trenton was acting like nothing happend.

"Delilah?" I snapped back into reality.

"Yes ma'am."

"Did you want to say hey?" I kept quiet. I heard rustling on the other line, before I heard his voice.

"Lila baby, how are you?" His voice sent a chill down my spine.

"I miss you mama."

"Well, I don't miss you Trenton." He chuckled.

"I know you miss daddy."

"I clenched my teeth, why the hell are you even at my mother's house?"

"Came to see my favorite mother of course and ask where you where. Don't worry I'll come and see you later baby." I was met with the dial tone. I sighed and plopped down on the bed. I tossed my phone on the dresser.

"Please God, don't let nothing happen.." I folded my hands on my chest and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
