"How do you know this'll work?""I don't. But we won't know for sure unless we try."
I sighed knocking the door before us a few times, before it was answered by the familiar face of Toph. I sighed when I saw the surprised looks from Aang and Sokka from inside the house.
"Glad to see you two are okay," Toph said with a smile.
"We need your help," I said, turning to Sokka, who didn't see surprised that I was here, but surprised to hear those words from me. "Please. We don't have anywhere else to go."
"Since when do you guys know Toph?" Aang asked with a frown.
"I met them in the woods once and knocked them down. Then they gave me some tea and some very good advice," Toph said quickly.
"May we come in?" Iroh asked, and she nodded, letting us both through. "Princess Azula is here in Ba Sing Se."
"She must have Katara," Aang said with a frown.
"She has your friend too?" I asked, surprised. "She's also captured Zuko."
"Then we'll work together to fight Azula, and save Katara and Zuko," Aang proposed.
"Whoa there! You lost me at 'Zuko'," Sokka interrupted.
"I know how you must feel about my nephew. But believe me when I tell you that there is good inside him," Iroh tried to persuade him.
"'Good inside him' isn't enough! Why don't you come back when it's outside him too, okay?" Sokka retorted.
"Look, I know you guys have no reason to believe it, but both of our friends are in trouble, and working together might be the only way we have of saving them," I said, giving Sokka a pleading look. "I asked you to trust me before. Now I ask you to do it again. I promise I will help you get your friend back safely."
"Hana's right. All of Ba Sing Se is in trouble. Working together is our best chance," Aang nodded in agreement.
"We brought someone along who might help us," Iroh mentioned, as we all walked outside and met with the Dai Li agent we'd captured before heading here.
"Azula and Long Feng are plotting a coup! They're going to overthrow the Earth King!" The agent said as soon as we removed his gag.
"My sister! Where are they keeping Katara?" Sokka asked, pointing his weapon at him menacingly.
"In the Crystal Catacombs of Old Ba Sing Se, deep beneath the palace."
"We know where they are. Let's go!" I said, gesturing for the rest of them to follow me as I made my way back to the palace.
I was really thankful to have spent all this time in Ba Sing Se, because otherwise, I don't know if I'd been able to find my way around this convoluted city. We stopped as soon as we arrived at the clear courtyard near the main palace.
Toph knelt briefly to study the underground structure. "Well, what'd you know? There is an ancient city down there. But it's deep."
"How deep?" I asked with a frown.
"Deep enough that even I have trouble seeing down there."
"We should split up. Aang, you go with Iroh and Hana to look for Katara and the angry jerk, no offense," Sokka suggested.
"None taken," I assured him.
"And I'll go with Toph to warn the Earth King of Azula's coup."
"Be careful. Azula's not someone to be underestimated. She may know we're all onto her," I warned him making him nod.
