"After what happened at Ba Sing Se, we had to get you to safety. We flew back to Chameleon Bay where we found my father and the other Water Tribe men. The Earth King decided he wanted to travel the world in disguise, so he set off alone. Soon, the bay was overrun by Fire Nation ships. Rather than fight them all, we captured a single ship and made it our disguise. Since then we've been traveling west. We crossed through the Serpent's Pass a few days ago. We've seen a few Fire Nation ships, but none have bothered us," Sokka said, as he caught Aang up on everything that had happened since the last thing he remembered."So what now?" Aang questioned.
"We've been working on a modified version of the invasion plan," Hakoda replied.
"It's Sokka's invasion plan," Katara retorted.
"Yes, Sokka's plan," Hakoda seemed very confused by her anger. "We won't be able to mount a massive invasion without the Earth King's armies, but the solar eclipse will still leave the Fire Nation vulnerable."
"So we're planning a smaller invasion. Just a ragtag team of our friends and allies from around the Earth Kingdom. We already ran into Pipsqueak and The Duke," Sokka said, as the two former Freedom Fighters waved at Aang with a smile.
"Good to see you again, Aang!"
"And the best part is, the eclipse isn't even our biggest advantage! We have a secret..." Sokka said in a whisper.
"What?" Aang asked.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "You!"
"Me?!"
"Well, yeah. Everyone thinks you're dead. That includes the Fire Nation. They'll never see it coming," I said with a grin.
"Isn't that great?!" Sokka said excitedly.
"The world thinks I'm dead? How is that good news? That's terrible!" Aang retorted.
"No, it's great! It means the Fire Nation won't be hunting us anymore! And even better, they won't be expecting you on the Day of Black Sun!" Sokka said happily.
"No, no, no, no, no. You have no idea. This is so messed up!"
"Aang, come on, open your mind to--" I wasn't able to finish my sentence before we heard the blaring horn of an incoming Fire Nation ship.
"I'll handle this. The Avatar is back," Aang said, grunting in pain as he pulled out his glider.
"Aang, wait! Remember, they don't know we're not Fire Nation!" Katara reminded him.
Aang sighed heavily before putting his glider away.
"Everyone just stay calm. Bato and I will take care of this," Hakoda instructed, as we all headed towards our assigned hiding spots on deck.
"I hate not being able to do anything," Aang whispered.
"Hopefully, you won't need to," Toph replied.
The five of us hid and watched as a group of Fire Nation soldiers walked up to Hakoda and Bato. After a few minutes, they turned around and walked back to their ship, seemingly leaving. However, I hear Toph gasp, having heard something we hadn't.
"They know!"
Immediately, we all jumped out of our hiding spot, while Toph used her metalbending to throw them off board. Katara used her waterbending to separate both ships as much as she could, while I helped the others elevate the ship's catapults and began igniting all the projectiles.
"I'm gonna give us some cover!" Katara announced, creating a fog screen from vapored water.
"I just can't stand by and do nothing!" Aang complained, trying to make his way towards the fighting.
