Chapter 5

Hayes's POV

The next day I searched all over the hall ways for Kaitlyn

After I told her why I really invited her over we sat on my bed just talking about the past and how much simpler it was

I gave up searching and headed to lunch period, I was gonna sit with her and her friends today but she was no where to be found

As soon as I sat down in the cafeteria my phone buzzed in my pocket

I pulled it out to see a message from Kaitlyn
'looking for me? I'm across the cafeteria'

I looked up and saw Kaitlyn waving towards me

She was sitting with her normal friends and a few of my friends which surprised me

I picked up my food and scurried over to find a seat open next to Kaitlyn and Bryce

"Sup dude" Bryce said nodding towards me

"Hey" I said patting his back

I looked over at Kaitlyn to find her biting down on an apple

"How do you disappear in the hall ways so easily?" I asked opening my lunch box to see what I have

"No one notices me as much so it makes it getting to class easier" she said chuckling

I smiled and opened my can of Arizona Tea

"Well I was looking for you"

"And why is that?" Kaitlyn asked intrigued

I took a sip of my drink and shrugged my shoulders "I don't know, so we could walk to lunch together like best friends"

Kaitlyn laughed and ate the rest of her Apple

Sitting at a different table with some different people was actually fun and I enjoyed talking to Kaitlyn's friends

The bell rang for the lunch period to be over and everyone head to their 5th hour class

I packed my stuff up and walked with Kaitlyn to our next class we had together, Home Ec.

We found our seats and waited for our teacher to begin the class

"Hello everyone, hopefully you didn't eat a lot during lunch because today we're making pancakes" Mr.Davis said clapping his hands

Everyone groaned but I sat up excited to be making more food

"Everyone is gonna need a partner so go ahead" he said before walking back to his desk

I looked around and saw everyone was finding their friend for a partner, I looked over and saw Kaitlyn sitting there waiting to find the last person available

I walked over to her and tapped her on the shoulder "wanna be my partner?"

She smiled and nodded, we found a stove that had all the ingredients we needed to start

"Ok class, here is a sheet of paper on instructions on how to make pancakes. Don't mess up! And no horse play" Mr.Davis instructed

I noticed Kaitlyn who looked worried then started laughing to herself

I started laughing to a whispered "what's so funny?"

She jumped not realizing I noticed her laughing but then she kept laughing

"Oh nothing, just something I remember happening while making pancakes before" she said pretending to shoo something away

"Care to tell?" I asked leaning on the counter
