Kaitlyn's POV

"Kaitlyn I just don't get it"

"It's not that hard, just put this equation into your calculator, then square it. Not that hard"

"You make it seem so easy"

I sighed and put my head in my hands

Hayes leaned back in his chair and slammed his text book closed

"Can we take a break?" He asked getting up and walked to his fridge

"Drink?" He held up a water and tossed it to me

"Thanks" I mumbled

Hayes walked back over to the table and starred at me while he sipped his water

"Can I help you?" I asked scrunching my eyebrows

"Nope, just trying to figure out why your helping me" Hayes asked

I was shocked he asked me that

"I mean, it's just, I thought you didn't really like me. So I don't get why your helping me when I'm sorta mean to you" Hayes said mumbling the end

His blue piercing eyes stuck into mine and I froze up not knowing what to say

I sat there starring back at him for awhile and he did the same

"Well Hayes, I guess I'm helping you because your my friend and I think I should, I get your more popular than me but that's ok." I finally got out

"I can't be the only smart one around here" I said chuckling

Hayes smiled and patted my back "thanks Kaitlyn, now where were we?" He asked opening his book

A smile crept across my face and I leaned closer to Hayes this time feeling better in his presence

"I got it! I got it Kaitlyn!" Hayes yelled hugging me and holding up his calculator

"Nice job Hayes, now do all the other problems exactly how you did that one" I said pointing to his paper

Hayes smiled and went back to his work. 30 minutes later he finally finished all the problems and they were right

"I think this was a very successful day for you Hayes" I said high fiving him

"I think so too" Hayes said not letting his smile go

Those perfect teeth and blue eyes made my heart melt and technically I made them appear

Hayes walked me to the front door and opened it for me

We stepped onto the front porch and stood there for a while looking at each other

"Well thank you so much Kaitlyn for helping me today. Next Tuesday for another session?" Hayes asked smiling

"Of course" I said nodding

"Well I'll see you later" Hayes winked

"Bye Grier" I said waving and walked across the street to my house

I felt Hayes's eyes pierce into my back as he watched me walk across the street

When I reached my front door I turned around and found Hayes still looking at me

He blushed and waved quickly entering his house

I smiled really wide and rushed inside dropping all my books and stuff and started dancing

I thought to myself, does Hayes like me? Does he?!

As I was dancing someone walked by the foyer
