Chapter 6

Kaitlyn's POV
Two days later

The whole school was rallied up for the big game tonight, not one student nor teacher cared for school today

I wasn't even interested in school and if ya know me, it's all I think about most the time. Unless you throw a basketball or volleyball in my face

Hayes and the football team were worshiped the whole day but he still found time to hang with me at lunch and in class

Every class period the teacher would ask a football player about the game and they would look at the stats of the other team

So basically I have been doing nothing this whole day, and oddly, I'm ok with that.

My only thought this whole day has been the game and getting to watch Hayes play for the first time this season

Hayes gave me his second number 7 football jersey to wear to the game to "represent" him as he said

Hayes has seemed more close lately and he actually likes me in his jersey instead of Vanessa

She still watches me walk through the halls, her eyes never leave me.

When ever Vanessa's around I try to get out of that spot as soon as possible, but she just seems to follow.

But today I won't let her get too much in my mind, I'm just gonna think about the game tonight.

Suddenly my thoughts were cut off by the final bell. I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed out the class.

I sped down the hall to my locker and heard all the kids hollering for the game. I smiled and looked down at Hayes's jersey, tonight should be fun

I finally reached my locker, a huge group was huddled around it. I sighed and forced my way through.

I finally pushed my way through and reached the handle of my locker

I grabbed my purse and keys and slammed my locker shut. Just as I was about to walk away Hayes's jersey got caught on the locker handle

I kept trying to get it uncaught but nothing worked. Then suddenly someone walked up and got it uncaught for me

I looked up and saw the blue eyes I've been thinking about all day

"Needed help?" Hayes asked chuckling

"Thanks Grier" I said fixing my purse on my side

"No prob, I think my jersey may be just a little big on you, but you look good in it" Hayes said studying my outfit

I looked down and saw the jersey bunched up in my shorts and my white vans almost unlaced

"Here I don't want you to trip" Hayes bent down and retied my shoe for me

My heart fluttered and I felt like Cinderella

I noticed other students see Hayes tying my shoe and they smiled at me

Sophie and Stacy saw it too and they both freaked and sprinted out the building

I silently chuckled to my self and Hayes stood back up smiling

"Ok all good now, well I gotta go get ready for the game. See ya tonight?" He asked already knowing the answer

"Of course" I said nodding at him

"Ok see ya" Hayes winked and jogged down the hall and out the door to the football field

I smiled really wide and danced out the school
