Slade and his friends continued to laugh amongst themselves, but slowly they started to hear someone join in. They look over to see Ace laughing. They all were confused by this behavior.
"Why the fuck are you laughing?" He got closer as I raised my head.
"You really are stupid Slade." I laughed louder.
"S-Stu- what did you just say to me?!" He got closer, grabbing my neck and pulling me up to his face, so close that I could feel his breath. "You better rephrase what you just said to me or I'll-" Suddenly he grunted in pain. He looked down at the blade in his abdomen, he looked up at me in shock.
"Goodnight Slade" I smiled as I kicked his knee back, causing him to fall back. He lay there on the ground with blood draining out of him. Gavin and Connor stood in shock at the sight before snapping back to reality.
"Oh my god!" Gavin finally blurted out. They both slowly backed up, I got up and walked over to Slade's body. I kneeled to his face as he groaned.
"This is what you get, stupid," I whispered happily into his ear, I pulled the switchblade out of his abdomen, making him squeal in pain, and pointed toward the others. "Leave." As I said that, they both took a minute to understand what came out of my mouth and ran off. I got up but felt a tug at my leg, I looked down at Slade trying to hold me still with one of his hands. I used my other foot to stomp on his arm, causing him to let go.
"Oh how fast the tables turned" I chuckled, glaring down at him. "Now you're at my mercy."
"Y-You" He was so weak he could barely speak, he had seemed to lost a lot of blood already.
"Shhh, don't speak." I kneel once more to put my finger over his mouth, he seemed pissed by the gestor. "It will be all over soon." I say this as I place my blade over his neck. He panicked and went to grab my arm but I made the slice as quickly and swiftly as possible. Everything went silent, nothing made a sound. Not the wind, not Slade. I got up to take a look at myself then at what I had done. 'I killed him, I really killed him.' I thought, suddenly my stomach started feeling strange. It was a weird feeling, I didn't know if it was guilt, or pleasure. Then it all went away, the only thing left was panic.
"No way I'm getting out of this alive, those guys are gonna tell everyone and they're gonna find his body an- maybe I can try and hide it? No- no way, I don't know how to hide a body in this much time! And even if I did hide it they would believe them and find some way to prove it was me." I couldn't stop rambling on and on until- I heard steps, footsteps. I turn around to see nothing but I can feel someone's presence. 'Come on Ace, you can take em, just need-' I groan, my vision is getting blurrier, I can feel my stomach twist up into a knot.
"Shit," I mumble under my breath, I try to silence myself as I hold my pain in. I hear nothing for a while but not much time passes before I hear a clicking noise. I don't know what to make of this, it's kind of like a tapping sound buzzing in my ear, I look around again to see nothing, 'The fuck is that?' I held up my blade close to me and try to watch my back and front. My head starts to feel like it's about to fall off, I start twirling around and around to see where the sound was coming from, my vision is nearly gone. I stop moving, realizing I'm losing feeling in my legs.
"FffffffFUCK!" I fall to my knees, I couldn't hold in my pain any longer. The sound starts to grow louder, it was getting closer. 'Shit! Where's my blade!?' I try to use my hands to find it, 'Damnit! It's gotta be around here somewhere!' I kept searching, trying to keep my eyes open until I halted to a stop, I felt something, I felt the air- heat up? I raise my head slowly to see a dark, blurry figure standing only a few inches away from me. Before I could speak, I felt my body start to fall forward and everything went black as I hit the ground.
Ca'Ytou's View
The ooman seems to be unconscious, from the beating she took, I am not surprised. Oomans were very weak creatures, even this brave little one who took out her own attacker couldn't stand long enough to face us. Gu'Kath and Thuah'Ka appear behind me, leaning over my shoulder to see the slumbered ooman. "The female has passed out from exhaustion," I explain to them.
"How disappointing, I thought we could see more of her skills." Gu'Kath sadly grunts as he goes to kneel down next to her.
"Don't worry brother, she will show us more when she is put out onto the battlegrounds." Thuah'Ka steps forward to pick her small, fragile body up. "Right now, we need to worry about preparing her for it."
"Are you sure she is worth the trouble of healing brother?" I add, I was surprised and intrigued by the outburst of rage and bloodlust she gave earlier, but I was uncertain if she was worth treating and prepping. "We only saw so little of her power, how do we know if she is truly worth it?"
"Do you doubt me, brother?" He stares blankly at me, I tried to keep my eyes on the ground, embarrassed for saying such things to him. "We all saw what she has done, she shows worth and determination. We will heal her and send her into the battlegrounds, that is when we will see her true power." He stares intensely at her, cradling her in his arms.
"She will prove if she truly is worthy of our care or not, right brave one?" Ace breathes slowly, pressing against his warmth, I could hear Thuah'Ka purring low, keeping the brave one at ease as she slept. Gu'Kath stepped closer, gently stroking her hair out of her face.
"For being so small, she has a lot of strength, I can't wait to see her in battle," Gu'Kath exclaims excitedly. I leaned back, watching as they fanned over her, I wished that I could have my chance to have a better look at her, but I was still embarrassed over the comments I made to my brother.
Truly, deep down, we all felt that the brave one was worthy, or at least different from the rest, even me. But we needed to see more, and to do that, she needed to survive.
"We should return to the ship before Ma'stba gets worried." I interrupted, looking around the corner.
"Oh, jealous brother?" Thuah'Ka chuckles, Gu'Kath snickers lightly under his breath. I look away, trying to make it seem that I was distracted. "But you are right, let us return." We set off towards the ship, ready to set off.
