Chapter 6.5 - Ashlon's Fan Club

When you have an overachieving older brother, you either hate him or love him to your bones. In Archer's case, he adored his Kuya Ash more than anyone or anything in this world. This is because Ash has always supported all his craziness and naughtiness. Often owning up to all of Archer's crimes so their dad will not punish him. But in private, Archer's Kuya will definitely give him a stern talking to after they got through their dad's disciplining.

If he can't cover up for Archer, Ash will talk to their dad and ask their dad to let him handle Archer instead. And while this would mean a less severe punishment, it will also be more effective. Ash talks to him like a best friend more than a big brother. He always treats him as an equal but at the same time practically raised him more than their parents did.

When Ash decided to be open about his sexual orientation, Archer had fervently wished that their dad will not oppose it. And while their dad really did not do anything that shows he is not happy with that; he also seem to not be very thrilled on discussing the matter after Ash's declaration.

And so, since Ash has raised Archer to be broad minded and accepting of a person's life choices, he has almost zero tolerance on those that will use one's sexual orientation to bully and hurt them. That is why he wanted to bury Peter for what he did to Fallon. Archer was not even really friends with that person. He was just a friend of Ryan's, a former classmate that he decided after the horrible event to cut ties with knowing he has connection to that asshole.

That fateful Friday when Ash found Archer eating with Fallon and River, Archer had felt a sizzle in the air somehow. Archer knew that there is definitely something when Ash got out of their home lab smiling and hugging Archer and then telling him, "Isn't it a good day to develop a scent that made you realize that your waiting has finally come to an end?"

Now, although the old Japanese restaurant presented several sumptuous dishes, River and Archer feels that the juiciest tidbit is the interaction between Ash and Fallon.

"Your number. I will text you our flight details later and you can book the same flight as ours.", 'smooth Kuya, very smooth...and domineering I might add', Archer cannot help telling himself.

"Archer and I can pick you up at your condo and we can also send you home from Naga airport. Saves fuel and we can help minimize carbon footprint."

'Really Kuya? Since when did you become an ambassador for Heal the Earth movement?' Archer snickered inside.

River told Archer that watching Ash and Fallon's low-key flirting is making her feel all kinds of single. Privately, Archer is thinking that he is witnessing a romance movie unfolding right before his eyes.

And while Archer is confident that Ash will succeed, he is also worried that love alone may not be enough to shatter Fallon's wall.
