Percy
"That was too easy," Percy muttered. Annabeth nodded.

"How?" Leo asked.

"The last time we ran into some of those, we almost died," Percy explained. Leo nodded, "We should probably go."

Annabeth nodded in agreement and picked up her backpack.

Percy sighed longingly when Annabeth put her hair in a ponytail.

"Miss her?" Leo asked as he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

Percy slapped Leo playfully.

"Hey!" Leo exclaimed.

"You two stop," Annabeth ordered them.

"Yes ma'am," Leo said quickly.

"Scared?" Percy asked. Leo nodded.

"Come on," Annabeth snapped.

"To Los Angeles?" Leo asked. Annabeth and Percy nodded.

They all filed out of the room.

Percy walked up to the front desk.

"Hi, we're checking out," Percy said. The woman nodded, "Room number?"

"307," Percy said. The woman nodded, "Thank you." Percy nodded and walked over to Leo and Annabeth.

"We're checked out, let's go," Percy said. Annabeth grabbed Percy's hand to stop him.

He couldn't help the butterflies that seemed to flutter around in his stomach.

You don't love her anymore. She hurt you. She cheated on you, Percy scolded himself.

"Percy," Annabeth whispered, "the woman from the counter's watching us."

"Okay... do we leave?" Percy asked.

"I guess," Annabeth let go of Percy's hand and briskly walked out of the room with Percy not far behind.

"Leo, let's go," Annabeth said when they were outside.

"Why?" Leo asked.

"Probable monster inside," Annabeth said quickly. Leo nodded and the trio briskly walked to the truck they rented.

"Why does Leo get to drive?" Percy winced.

"Because... actually, I'm not quite sure," Annabeth said.

"Because Bad Boy Supreme is an amazing driver," Leo said smiling as he pulled out of the parking spot almost hitting the car behind them.

"Leo!" Annabeth yelled. Leo smiled apologetically.

"Amazing, my foot," Percy muttered.

"Whatever," Leo said.

They soon ran out of gas.

"Seriously, Leo?!" Annabeth yelled.

"Sorry," Leo muttered.

"We've been on the roads for two hours! We've stopped for gas before! Why didn't you stop!?" Annabeth yelled.

"Sorry," Leo repeated.

"Whatever! Now we're stranded in the middle of nowhere and we can't use a phone! What do we do now?!"

"Annabeth, stop yelling," Percy said.

"Don't tell me what to do, Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth yelled.

They both froze.
