I found myself lying in an empty room, the walls pure white. I tried to lift my arm up to shield my eyes, to find that my arm hurt too much to do that. I gasped in horror as I found that my arms and legs were covered in blood and purplish bruises. My skull throbbed as if a hammer had hit it. Then I remember. Alan. I turned my head as much as I could and looked around for Alan. He isn't here. Where is he?
A sound made me turn around. Well, frankly, I couldn't really turn around, so I shifted my body as much as I could. I saw a Guard stomp into the room. I could tell from the insignia on his uniform that he works for the Government. I immediately disliked him. He seemed a bit odd though. He had a tattoo of a phoenix on his neck.
Suddenly, he strode forward and yanked me up by the arms. I screamed in pain as my arms burned from his iron grip. Involuntary tears dripped down my face but I couldn't stop them. It hurt too much. My body crashed against a stray table and I cried out again, as loudly as I could. I hoped someone would save me. Someone had to save me!
I was dragged into what looked like an interrogation room. The Guard dumped me in a chair, sending jolts of pain through me. I wanted to scream at the Guard and kill him. But my body could handle it anymore. A wave of nausea made me slump down to the floor. I fell into a fitful state of unconsciousness.
Blurry images swept through my mind. I was transported to some kind of medical building. A Nurse leant over me. "This one's special," she said. "We need her blood."
So many needles.
Slowly, I came to. I waited for the pain to subside. It slowed down to a dull ache and I wondered what the Nurse meant. Wait....what did the Nurse say? I was alarmed to find that I couldn't remember. What did she say to me?
My thoughts were interrupted as a Nurse walked into the room. She was pretty, but in a cutting way. Her grey eyes pierced through me, and her cheekbones and jaw were sharp.
She looked somewhat shocked at my battered appearance, but composed herself quickly. "We're going to give you some injections now," she said.
I immediately rejected it. "No! I'm not going to be doing anything for the Government! Leave me alone!"
She tutted. "Guard!" She called.
The Guard that abused me came in with a smile. "I'm happy to repeat the process, darling."
Darling. Revulsion swept over me. I glared at him. "No way. I'm going to kill you for that."
"I'm so sorry, darling. You won't be able to. You just won't remember," he smirked.
I was confused, but I hurt too much to argue. I coughed weakly. I was sure I should've been in a medical CityLab after what had happened to me. The Nurse smiled and injected me with something. I had no idea what it was. It made me feel tired. I just wanted to sleep........

Bright lights. I moaned and squeezed my eyes shut, praying that the light would switch off. It didn't.
"Oh good, she's awake now," someone said. I couldn't tell where they were. A wave of dizziness washed over me as I tried to sit up.
My vision cleared a bit. My head and my left arm were covered in bandages. I wasn't sure though. A Nurse walked into the room. "Hello, Violet. It's nice to see you awake. My name is Nurse Lara. How are you feeling?" She grabbed out her clipboard, tucking a strand of silver hair behind her ear. Her eyes were grey and sharp.
I was about to answer her when I wondered how she knew my name. Nothing came out of my mouth as I tried to speak. My mouth was dry and parched. The Nurse passed me a glass of water and I gulped it down gratefully, not caring whether it was tainted or not.
I asked Nurse Lara how she knew my name. All she said was, "The Government knows everything, Violet."
She took off my bandages. I was shocked at what I saw that I screamed. My arms were covered in blood and purplish bruises. Where did they come from?
"What did you do to me?" I choked out. So much blood.
Nurse Lara looked annoyingly calm. "We didn't do this to you, Violet. You just don't remember. I'm so sorry that you don't remember." I saw pity in her eyes. I didn't want her pity.
I had another important question. "Where's Alan?" I demanded. I wanted to see him right now. I wanted him to hold my hand and tell me that it was okay.
"We will deal with him soon. There's no doubt that he's fine. For now."
"For now?! I want to see him right now." I bit back a nasty response.
The Nurse snarled at me, spittle flying. "You selfish brat! The Government saved your life! If it weren't for us, you would be dead."
She gestured to another person in the room that I couldn't see. "We're ready now. Prepare her for surgery."
I lifted my head in alarm, causing a sharp pain in the back of my skull. I regretted it instantly. "What?" I cried. "What surgery?"
The other person came over with a long needle, the sharp tip glinting dangerously. He was a Guard, from what I could tell on his badge. His most striking feature was the tattoo of a phoenix on his neck. He looked familiar, but I couldn't remember where I'd seen him. Where had I seen him before?
Before I could say anything else, he jabbed the needle into my right arm. I instantly felt calm, which lulled me to sleep. I forgot everything.
