I was so glad it was the weekend cause I wasn't in the mood to deal with idiots.

I headed over to the Cullens in hopes Caius had left.

when I didn't see him I told myself not to get my hopes up that he is around here somewhere.

"Hi Tess, how are you hunny?" Esme greeted

"I've been better" I replied

"you hungry?" she asked not pushing for any more information.

"no, thank you, Es" I tell her

"the girls are out back," she says

"thank you" I replied before I headed upstairs and out the back where everyone including Caius was.

I stood short in my tracks having seen him.

I told myself you can be civil and not make a scene as you talk with your friends. 

I greeted everyone that was outside before I took a seat watching Em and Jas being their typical selves and wrestle.

I was in and out of conversations with Rose and Alice. and neither of them was questioning what happened last night which I am thankful for. although had Caius not been here I'm positive they would hound me for information.

"Can we take a walk?" Caius asked

I stood up brushed myself off and took his offered hand.

We walked deep into the woods before we stopped.

"what is it I can do for you, Caius?" I asked

"I want to discuss last night" he says

"I'm pretty sure what I wanted to say was said" I tell him

"then its my turn" he says

"alright" I say

"the queens are locked away in the tower so that they will be safe should anything happen at the castle. or should the ill mannered Romanians come to attack" he says

"is it a rule or was it discussed between your brothers and sister in laws?" I asked

"its not a rule" he says

"so they talked it over and they came to an agreement to be locked up as if they was prisoners?" I asked

"yes.but they arent treated as such" he says

"so being locked in the tower they can come and go as they please, they can roam the castle and go outside of it anytime they wish?" I asked

"well no" he says

"they are watched by I'm gonna guess a guard or two. and they leave when they are summoned?" I asked

"right" he says

"that's a prisoner" I replied

"what do you want me to do?" he asked

"look I get that you feel that you do as your brothers had done with their wives is something you should do with your mate. but it's like you said they talked it out and it was a mutual agreement. where it's not one between you and I." I say to him

"why not?" he asked

I could tell he was getting irate with me.

"if you wanna lock me away then just find a way to get rid of this mate bond. I had told you I'm no damn prisoner nor will I be treated as such. and if you can't understand that then go home and leave me here" I tell him before I went to walk off.

He grabbed me pulled me to him and kissed meant he backed me up against a tree.

"you are one hard-headed human you know that" he states

"I don't let people walk all over me or expect me to just roll over and allow them to fuck me over. I stand my ground for what I feel is right. and if you can't accept that then leave me alone." I tell him

he says nothing and just kisses me again as his cold hands' trail across my stomach.

"Caius"  I whispered

"Hmm?" he replied

"I want to be with you and we both can feel it. but I don't want to be caged like a prisoner. I want to explore my new home, be able to lay with you ever day and night despite you not sleeping. I want to be able to go into the gardens if there is one, be able to explore art room if there is one. I want to be able to walk freely in my new residence and not feel that the only free time I have is when the ugre strikes you. I mean I get its your brothers way of how they choose to protect their mate. I do understand that completely. but its never gonna work for me." I tell him

"I'll talk with my brothers about it and we'll see what happens" he says

"I have to satay here to finish school and get everything here taken care of." I tell him

"I'll come back in four weeks" he tells me

"I'll be waiting" I tell him before I turned us around pinned him to the tree and kissed him better then he's possibly ever been kissed in his vampire or human life.

After that, we headed back toward the Cullens' place.

"When are you leaving?" I asked

"tonight" he replied

"please be safe. I don't care if you've lived a long life and are much older than me. you've grown on me and I care about you despite our differences that happened and everything." I tell him

he smiled 

"starò benissimo" he says

I nodded my head before I pecked his lips and then walked into the Cullens' house.
