"Trevor, anak, please naman makinig ka sa amin."

I heaved a sigh, exhausted of my parents nagging. Kaya ayoko umuuwi sa bahay tuwing nandito sila eh. Gusto ko nalang umuwi sa condo ko, nandoon pa si Nadia hinihintay ako.

"Ma, I'm tired of getting more surgeries," I exhaustingly replied.

I felt guilty when I saw the pain in my family's eyes. Simula bata pa ako, I've had bone surgeries. Doctors would always tell me mabuti daw at naaagapan nila agad para hindi na lumala. You're cancer free my ass. Bakit nandito na naman?

"We caught dad kissing another girl," pag-iyak ni Nadia nang buksan ko ang pintuan. She immediately came up to me to hug me.

Kahit gustong gusto ko nang sabihin sa kanya pero ayoko dagdagan ang problema niya. Nadia's naturally caring person and she's very empathetic, kaya alam ko na maaawa siya sa akin at ayoko mangyari iyon, ayokong kaawaan niya ako.

Being with Nadia was like being in a rollercoaster ride. Alam kong marami siyang problema at pinagdadaanan kaya naiintindihan ko when she would just leave me hanging, kahit nasasaktan ako, naiintindihan ko. But she made me so happy, her presence made me so happy.

She fits her name perfectly, Nadia means Hope, because she gave me hope. The hope to live longer. She made my life worth living again. Kaya kahit masakit man, when she ghosted me again, I had to leave too to undergo more surgeries.

"It was successful," the doctor gladly announced.

Nakaramdam agad ako ng saya. My family were very happy with the news too. Matagumpay ang surgery ko. I then went on with my life in Singapore. I went back to school again to finish my degree, I went to the gym religiously to bring my body back to what it used to be dahil halos naging buto ako during recovery, and after college, I worked hard to run our family's business.

I couldn't have a serious relationship with other women dahil siya pa rin ang nasa isipan ko. Si Nadia pa rin.

"Tingin mo kuya, makikita natin siya dito?" umaasang tanong ni Trixcy sa akin when we landed in Berlin for a family vacation. I always tell her about Nadia and she still remembers her.

Trixcy insisted that we go to Berlin for Christmas and New Year, pumayag naman agad si mom and dad.

"Sana," ang tangi kong sabi. The whole time we were in Berlin, I tried to look for her but I failed. It was my fault, too. I didn't try enough, natatakot kasi ako magtanong dahil baka magtanong din sila kung bakit ko siya hinahanap.

Gustong gusto ko na kasi siyang makita kahit ang sakit sakit pa rin ng ginawa niya sa akin, pero hindi ko magawang magalit. She definitely played with my feelings and I was okay with it.

"My friends are willing to invest in our company if we expand in the Philippines, Trevor, kaya kailangan natin gawin 'to."

Napabuntong hininga nalamang ako as I put my hands on my waist. Ayoko sa suggestion ni dad. Ayoko umuwi, natatakot akong makita lahat ng iniwan ko doon. Natatakot akong makita si Nadia. But our company needs this too.

"Okay, I'll take over in the Philippines," tugon ko kay dad.

Kabado akong tinipa ang numero ni Aidan sa telepono. I'm just following dad's orders. Walong taon ko din na hindi nakausap si Aidan, miski sila Lester, Reign, at Prince.
