It had been days since (y/n)'s disappearance. No one had found any clues about his whereabouts, but the killings continued, no matter who discovered the crime scenes. Every single time, Kyoko hoped to not find her partner's body. She wouldn't know how to deal with such a situation."The murders keep getting more brutal as time passes by..." The purple haired female mumbled, using a flashlight to illuminate the scene in front of her. "I can't even agree with you, since I just recently joined this case!" A rather cheerful male chirped, bending down towards the body.
Yes, Kyoko didn't have a choice, so she had to get herself a new partner. It made her heart ache. She missed her old partner more than anything, especially since he was also her lover. "Is something the matter, Miss Kirigiri?" 'I miss the way (y/n) would say my name.'
"No, everything is alright. Please leave the crime scene, for now. I need to make some further investigations." Without protesting at all, he left, leaving the detective to study her surroundings. 'Once again, it looks like the victim didn't even try to put up a fight. It's really strange...'
A small noise, coming from the ceiling caught her attention. "What? Is someone up there?" Kyoko curiously stepped outside, but noticed that the next floor seemed to be completely demolished. It would've been impossible for someone to hide there. "Then the noise must come from the roof... Is there a ladder leading up?"
All the officers decided to ignore her talking to herself, which was convenient for her. Walking around the whole building, she actually found a ladder, putting one hand on it. "I should be careful, this thing looks quite old..." She stepped onto one of the steps.
'Who would be stupid enough to stay at the roof of a crime scene?' Her blood seemed to freeze in her veins. 'What if the killer is the one up there? I only have a small gun, I'm sure I wouldn't even stand a chance...!' Regardless, she kept climbing up the ladder.
At first, she only saw an empty roof, nothing more and nothing less. "Hm, that's weird. I could have sworn that I've heard something." And even though she didn't see anything, she still drew her gun, just in case anything dangerous happened. "I wonder what (y/n) would do right now..."
The purple haired detective didn't say that to anyone specific. How would she? There was no one with her. Or at least she thought so. "What I would do right now? I don't know, but I think I would be really f-cking jealous. Who's that new partner of yours?"
Her eyes widened, her heart beating faster. Feeling her heartbeat speeding up, the female slowly turned around, seeing her lost lover in front of her. "(Y/n)...? Am I hallucinating...?" She took some small steps forward, before running into his arms, almost making them both fall to the ground.
The (h/c) haired male let out a laugh. "Wow, you seem excited to see me." Burying her face in his chest, Kyoko didn't give an answer. She was just happy to have her partner back, safe and sound. "I'm so glad that you're back... I was so extremely worried..."
But then, her eyes widened. 'Wait... Why is he here? And why isn't he hurt, scared or confused? I thought he was kidnapped or something like that...' The detective slowly raised her head, looking at her lover. "Let me ask you one single question... (Y/n)... Are you a murderer?"
