It was a normal day for Sophie Foster.

Or it was as normal as it could get.

Dex had a new gadget, and Biana got a new lipstick, which was an eyesore to Sophie, but most others loved it. Fitz and her relationship was still... rocky, Tam and Linh's relationship was also rocky for a different reason, and you know, just the normal stuff.

But of course, if it was a normal day, then why would she be here, telling you this stuff?

It all started when she saw something fall down the window. It was way too fast for her to tell, but she just assumed it would be something like a book or a cape because a mentor got too annoyed with it. It had happened before. But no one other than her noticed that, so of course, no attention was drawn to it.

But that was the first weird thing that happened. After that, she went on to her usual routine- her first mistake. Her second mistake was not noticing Tam fidgeting, and the bodyguards' being more apprehensive than usual, but she went on without noticing it. After all, it was P.E. day.

But then came an announcement came saying they would be dismissed early today from Foxfire. Sure, she was glad at the time to be released school, but now, she would gladly take 3 consecutive Alchemy sessions from Lady Galvin. Maybe even 4. A few days later, she stopped seeing Magnate Leto/Mr. Forkle all together. A few days later, there was a public announcement in Eternalia, where all the elves were gathered.

The architecture had completely changed. Gone were the splendorous mosaicked walls and single-hued buildings, to replaced castelesque buildings with dark blue bricks and large silver gates- no individuality.

When councilors finally leaped to the podium, it was quite a shock for everyone. Instead of Councilor Bronte, there was Gisela, Instead of Councilor Ramira, there was Gethen. And the other Councilors were either desperately diverting their attention or looking defeated.

Dread pooled in her stomach and bile rose up her throat as she started putting pieces together.

Silence on Black Swan's part. Shifty behavior. Aprehension.

Oralie caught her eyes, her wide azure eyes pleading her to leave- but she needed answers.

The stench of fear stayed permanent in the air from that day on.
