You figured that you could be done playing outside for the day. You still had leaves crumpled up in your hair. You watched as Puppy lumbered over to the sofa and you finished your drink. Matt was rambling on about something next to you, you didn't mind though.

You could hear the faint sound of music coming from another room. You did a quick mental round-up of everyone. Matt was here, Tord and Edd were in the living room... where was Tom?

"Hey, Matt," You unintentionally interrupted him, "Where's Tom?"

"He's probably just fiddling with Susan."

"Susan...?"

"Oh, Susan's his bass," Matt clarified, "His beloved bass. He gets pretty touchy about her, don't tell him I told you that, though."

You hummed absentmindedly, wanting to go see Tom play for yourself. You muttered a quick "bye" to Matt and made your way to Tom's room.

You didn't know which room was his, but you just followed the sound of the bass until you found the room it was coming from. You sat outside his door, listening to the sweet strumming of strings and Tom's gentle hums.

That jam session must've lasted a while because it was only when Edd called for lunch that Tom finally stopped and you snapped out of your trance-like state.

"Lunch!"

You hurried away from Tom's door and into the kitchen, stumbling a little as you slowed. "What are we having?"

"Just breakfast," Edd replied cheerfully.

"PANCAKES!" Matt shouted from halfway across the house. You could hear a series of bumps and thuds as he made his way down from the attic and to the dining table. You giggled a little as he came into view, a child-like excitement spread across his face.

You sat down at the table and grabbed the butter, syrup, your berry of choice, and chowed down on the pancakes and eggs.

"Thank you Edd, it's really good!" You said, mouth stuffed with food.

"No problem, (Y/N)." He chuckled, "I wish the others were as appreciative."

A series of obligatory "thanks, edd" s spread throughout the room and Edd seemed satisfied, sitting down to eat.

As you all finished up, the lights started to flicker and eventually went out completely. You could hear the rest of the house's power dissipate and were soon in newfound dark and quiet.

"Hello?" Matt whispered, voice wavering.

"We're all still here, Matt." That was Edd.

"Not me." Tom said.

"Are too! You just spoke!" Matt argued into the pitch black.

Tord turned on his phone's flashlight and you huddled over to him, not wanting to be in the darkness.

"I wonder why the power went out–" A strong gust of wind that seemed to shake the house interrupted Tord. He turned his light toward the window, which was almost completely blocked with snow.

"A snowstorm? Already?" Tom turned on his phone light as well. The others followed suit, except for Edd, who was apparently now missing.

"You know what this means!" He called from the other room, Tom and Tord groaned while Matt cheered. You were just confused.

"Do we have to?" Tom complained. Tord was trying to sneak away and Matt was hopping up and down.

"Monopoly!" Edd barged in the room, holding the board game, "And yes, you have to. I'm making you."

Huh. You'd never played Monopoly before.

"How...how do you play?" You asked.

"Oh it's real easy," Edd started, "You just roll the dice, move your piece around the board, and buy whatever you can get!"

Seemed simple enough. Matt cleared everybody's plates off the table and Edd grabbed both Tom and Tord by the hoodies, dragging them back to the dining room.

The two of them set up the game as you watched with interest. Once you were all ready to start, you picked out your piece and set it on Start alongside the others.

You were first up! You rolled your dice and bought the first place you landed on. That almost put you out of the game already though, so you decided to start saving up.

The five of you played for a while, each somewhat getting into it. Matt wasn't doing so well, however. He ran out of money almost instantly and Edd had to give him a pity loan. Edd was after all of the water and electrics and railroads, Tom settled for whatever he could get, and Tord was nearly always in jail.

Tord sat with his head in his hands as he rolled straight into jail for the fourth time. You cackled a little. Why? Because it was all going according to your plan! You, yes you, were on top! Capitalism was working in your favour today, and you were all for it.

The five of you played like that until you couldn't anymore. You held your first place to the very end.

Out of seemingly nowhere, a grey tabby cat helped itself through the pet-flap in the door.

"Oh, there you are, Ringo!" Edd said, yawning, "I was wondering where you were."

Ringo meowed and stretched, shaking off the snow on her fur. She seemed completely unaffected by Puppy's curious sniffs.

"I didn't know you guys have a cat!" You were surprised you hadn't seen her before, though it made sense why there was a pet-flap in the door now.

"Yep, she just goes wherever she pleases, really."

You yawned, rubbing your eyes. Tord chuckled, "I think it's time for bed, (Y/N)."

"But I'm not tired!" You most definitely were, but you wanted to see just how much more money you could squeeze out of the others before you stopped.

You yawned again and silently scolded yourself. Tord walked over to you and picked you up in his arms, "You won, little one. Bedtime."

You grumbled but didn't resist. The haziness of sleep washed over you. You were gently laid on the sofa and tucked in.

Puppy jumped up next you and you put your arm over him. The boys seemed almost if not as tired as you, but they all managed to wish you a good night before heading off to bed.

The warmth of it all overcame you, and you realized just how much this place felt like home. You don't know when you decided to confess this, but you did, "I think I wanna stay here forever..."

You promptly drifted off to sleep, oblivious to the tooth-aching sweetness you had just inflicted on the boys.

----

"That was fucking adorable." Tom was the first to say it. Matt just awwed.

"Oh my god." Edd breathed out, hand clutching at his chest.

"I'm too tired to process that right now." Tord put his hands together in front of his face and took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure.

The electricity turned back on and the constant background hum of the house returned.

"Welp, I'm going to bed. Let's never play Monopoly again." Tom said goodnight and headed to his room.

"Agreed." Tord and Matt said in unison.

"Hey, I thought it was fun!" Edd pouted.
