Ch 2: Mike

This night was pretty boring to Mike. He looked around at everyone laughing and smiling whilst playing games with each other, including El, who when he saw her he thought she might be one of the sweetest people he's ever met, but despite feeling like he should always want to be around her and kiss her, the thought repulsed him slightly.

As he continued to scan the room, he saw Will laughing at something Dustin and Max were saying to him, and Mike couldn't tear his eyes away. The way Wills eyes are the perfect shade of green got him every time.

A few seconds later he saw Will shoot a slight glance at him and quickly turned away, and then he heard someone talking to him from his right, "Mike, hellooo?" said El "yeah? Sorry I didn't hear you." Mike said in return, "it's ok. Me and Max are going to get some drinks for the group, do you want anything?".

Mike was about to reply with saying he didn't want anything but then he remembered that his parents just got a pack of dr Peppers, Wills favorite. "Um, yeah can you grab a few dr peppers? Thanks.", El and Max went upstairs while Mike Lucas and Will stayed in the basement.

(Upstairs in the kitchen with El and Max): El followed Max up the stairs and into the kitchen. El could tell something was up with Mike, but she wasn't sure what it was, he was more distant and emotionally unavailable, but he still acted like an amazing friend.

"What did Mike say?", Max asked. El was surprised and didn't know what she was talking about, "what?" she replied "When you asked him about the drinks. What did he say he wanted?" Max repeated, "Oh. Just some dr peppers he said,".

While Max had her hand on the fridge handle, about to get them out of the fridge, El contemplated asked Max about her situation, and she thought it was the right thing to do. "Um, Max? Can I talk to you about something Mike related?" she said, Max turned to her, with a slightly puzzled face, and responding with "yeah sure, what's up?".

El didn't quite know where to start, but she opened the conversation with telling her how Mikes been distant and hard to reach sometimes, but he wasn't been mean, just he's been different lately. "So, when did he start acting like this?" Max questioned, "I don't know, maybe month ago or so?", "Have you been acting differently towards him?", "No I've been completely normal with him.", El reflected when she started to notice the major changes in his behavior towards her, and it seemed to really started after her and Mike were broken up, so maybe he's still shaken up about that, she thought.

"Well, you should talk to him about it. You can't expect him to know you're confused or unhappy if you don't say anything" Max said to El while closing the fridge after getting the sodas. El knew she was right, but she wasn't completely sure if she wanted to fix what was going on with her and Mike.
