The sound of my quill pen scratching onto the parchment as I listened to what my Latin teacher was saying. The respectable language was accustomed to me to learn as Lord Karlheinz felt it would benefit me in understanding my history.

Learning it, however, was a task as the tutor himself, Professor Fodere; who was an old man who only spoke the language itself, could barely speak a word of English. So I adapted a way of learning the language by myself as well as learning more from him. Even though he was a misogynist who believed in the old tradition, I humbly respected the old man as he was patient yet strict with me.

"The way language is structured works the same way as English starting with a subject, object, and verb. You address a matter with an action at the end." He mumbled in Latin as I nodded my head in acknowledgment, "The position of the word in the sentence, especially as the sentence becomes more complicated. You may write it out as an example so you can memorize it, Tiro."

Tiro was Latin for protégée or student.

"Yes, Professor Fodere." I addressed him and handed him the parchment. His hourglass eyes scrims through the page briefly before looking back at me displeased.

"Your wording is too indirect. You mustn't run on your words. Write to the point only." He stated. I nodded my head in silent agreement as he waddled to his desk and seated himself to write a daily report. Pushing my hair away from my face I sighed deeply and turned to stare at the open space through the window.

The sky was forever broody as the old man with no hint of sunlight to lighten up the beautiful scenery of the garden. For an odd four years, I grew into the royal family, learning the customs and upbringing that one should know. My day consists of learning literature, visual arts, and music, etiquette along with other womanly duties. On my breaks, I would normally be eating or studying if possible.

"Oh, Lord Shu! What an honor it is!" the professor said jubilantly.

Gracing us with his presence was the handsome blond haired lord with his cool sapphire eyes; he wore a white shirt with a black vest on and long pants, but oddly no dark green coat, in his hands was a bunch of pages. I got up to bow to him respectively.

"Good afternoon Lord Shu," I said averting my eyes to the ground as bowed. I was silently greeted by the eldest son as he walked toward the Professor. Straighten my back up, I turned back to see his hand a file of pages in the old man.

"Here is my report." the dim voice of Lord Shu spoke in Latin.

"Ah, as expected. I am extremely pleased my Lord." he praised the prince. I rolled my eyes at the compliment he gave to the young vampire lord. Even after our first encounter at the first-night dinner, I viewed him as a king statue; a model of power, and strength, fearful yet lazy, I didn't know much about him besides seeing him outside with his mother studying. His eyes glared at me with a hint of annoyance as he walked out the door, but didn't bother me at all.

"Lord Shu, the eldest of his brothers shows a lot of promise. Oh, how I wish I had more time to teach him rather than useless and inconsiderate wastes of knowledge." the professor whined. Walking to the door, I bowed to the Professor a polite goodbye. Walking out the door, I let out a slight huff.
