When the sun lowered behind the horizon, Lonnie and her friends decided it was time to head to the laboratory. Tracy and Harry both changed into their ninja uniforms and bumped into each other when they exited their decided opposite changing rooms.
"Sorry," Tracy said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she looked up at Harry and smiled sheepishly.
"Are you ready?"
It took Harry a moment to answer her question; after all, it seemed like he was too busy staring at Tracy in her fitted black outfit with her raven black hair tied into a ponytail.
He returned her smile and said simply: "I'm always ready."
She saw that he grinned as he responded, unable to hide it despite the fact that he may or not be telling the truth.
"Are you two done flirting, already? Because we don't have all night." Lonnie said, making her way towards them while placing her gun in the holster at the side of her belt.
"Why can't I have the same suit you do?" Tracy whined, motioning at Lonnie's not-so fitted black suit with a cool leather belt tied around her waist with many holsters for guns and stuff.
"Because I am an expert at gymnastics so therefore I don't need a suit to help me do nearly impossible tasks. Now come on. The night won't last forever." Lonnie responded and turned back around to head to the kitchen.
Tracy sighed and looked up at Harry. They held each other's gazes for a moment before they both broke out in a laugh.
"I don't think she would think it was very smart of you to ask that of her." Harry told Tracy, still laughing and holding his stomach.
"Yeah." was all Tracy could say.
And as they met up with Lonnie in the kitchen to get all their stuff together, she couldn't help but feel anxious for what they were about to do.

Mrs. Patterson finished bandaging whatever wounds Emma had on her body, though she had none but the older woman insisted she bandage them anyway. She led Emma to the shelter's only bathroom, which was at the far end of the entire building, hidden by a tall wall that seemed to reach up to the ceiling and make Emma feel small.
She closed the door and let Emma have the bathroom to herself. When Emma was sure the woman wasn't standing just outside the door, she took out something from her pocket. It was one of the pills the pharmacist had put in the bag, and when Emma read the label she couldn't help but feel relief as it was some kind of drug that wasn't quite poison, but wasn't totally nice with the inside body either.
It was in a small clear bottle, and there was only one pill inside: its white shell deceived what the contents were inside, deadly and poisonous.
Emma opened the bottle and took out the pill, looking at it intently and slowly bringing it her widening mouth.
"Don't do it, Emma." a voice said.
Emma paused from bringing the white pill to her mouth, and looked around her to see if she was alone in the room.
But of course, she ought to be.
The bathroom was no bigger than her closet at home, and her closet was very small compared to Tracy's. When she thought of home, her mind instantly went to her mom, and she began to wonder where she was now and if she was even looking for her.
Emma was about to bring the pill to her mouth again but that voice stopped her again.
And this time, she saw the speaker.
