───── ❝ THE CALM ❞ ─────

Nothing could go wrong... right?

"A-Aiko-chan, is this really necessary?" You struggled to get your words out as the girl held you by the chin, making you look at her.

It was August 3rd, the day of the Musashi Festival. Currently, you and Aiko were in your room getting ready. After Emma's incessant teasing to invite someone to the festival, you finally agreed. Of course, you didn't invite her brother as she wanted, but instead, you invited your childhood friend who happily agreed.

After getting your invitation, Aiko was continuously bugging you about what to wear for the festival, saying she badly wanted to dress you up. "I'm not a barbie." You would tell her.

"But you're pretty enough to be one!" She would reply with a wink.

So, with no other choice, you let her barge into your home to get your hair and makeup done for the night. "It is absolutely necessary!" The ravenette told you, digging through your makeup items, "Damn, don't you have a shade of blush that would actually compliment your skin well?" She complained, obviously disappointed by the items you have.

You shrugged as you watched her, "You know I don't do my makeup much... a lot of those things in there were gifts." You confessed, remembering all the times Yuuki showed up to a party with a box full of makeup in hand. "You've been single for too long." She would say. You couldn't help but roll your eyes from the memory.

"Man, you're hopeless..." Aiko sighed before finally pulling something out from the pile, "But this should work." She approached you once again with a blush and mascara in her hands before she continued to work on your face.

After a few minutes of messing around with your face and hair, Aiko finally turned you around to face your mirror. Your mouth dropped. You were never the egoistic kind, but you had to admit that Aiko's work on you did you amazing. She decided to go for a minimalistic makeup look for you because, "You're beautiful enough already, you don't need much makeup anyways." She had two sections of your front hair braided and pulled to the back which was tied in a half up half down style.

"There you go! Don't you think you look beautiful?" Aiko praised, leaning down to wrap her arms around you to give you a hug from behind. You smiled at the sight in the mirror. The ravenette nestled closer in to your neck and you brought a hand up to squeeze her arm. "I won't be able to see you get married but I'll take this for now~"

Your eyes widened and you looked at her weirdly, "What're you talking about?! You think I can't get married?! I'm very much capable, y'know!"

Aiko laughed and pulled away from you, taking a few steps away to keep herself from getting hit by your flailing arms. "Sure, sure~" All of a sudden, she stopped as a look of realization dawned on her face, "Oh, that's right! I got something for you." She turned back and rummaged through her bag before pulling out a black box.

You raised a brow and looked at the box, "I don't want it. Return it and get your money back."

Your friend could only roll her eyes as she let out an exasperated sigh, "Oh come on, don't be such a bitch about it! I worked hard for this, so take it!" Before you could protest, she had already grabbed your hand and placed the box in your grasp. Knowing you couldn't change her mind no matter how much you wanted to, you gave up.
