"You sure you can't stay longer, [surname]?" Baji's voice rang out after you as you put on your shoes.

"Keisuke's right, I've just made cookies!" Ryoko peeked over from the kitchen wall and along with her came the scent of delicious homemade cookies that nearly made you fall to your knees.

Smiling, you finished slipping on your shoes and turned around to look at the two, "I really wish I could, but I really have to go. I promised my cousin I would babysit her child for her!"

Although Ryoko was upset that you couldn't stay any longer, she nodded her head in understanding. "Well travel safely now, my dear~" She waved before disappearing back into the kitchen.

You chuckled and waved after her before your eyes went over to Baji's who stared at you intensely. And just like that, you went into a panic as your heart race sped up and your eyes darted all around the walls. 

It had been a while since Bloody Halloween and while you were extremely happy that Baji had survived and is now steadily recovering, you, at times, could not handle seeing him. You, nor Baji for that matter, could forget the small event that transpired between the two of you as you had waited for the ambulance that day. His confession was the last thing you were expecting out of the entire event and you still were unsure of how to react.

Of course, you had yourself to partly blame as well, considering you were the one who kissed him, but you still put the blame on him for beginning that sort of mood in the first place all entirely for your dignity. 

"U-uhm, [surname], about that day-"

"Y-yeah?" You suddenly chirped, your voice getting five times higher. Your face turned red instantly as you unconsciously took a step back. 

"I-" Baji stopped himself, his eyes darting down to look at the ground beside your feet. "I hope it doesn't really change anything between us." The taller boy leaned his head down, his hair covering his now red face. As he did, you managed to take a glance at him and took in his rare, shy features. You found it... cute.

"I don't really e-expect anything from it. Uh..." You noticed Baji struggled with his words, and it made your heart beat faster. But it wasn't like how it has been before, where the beating made you want to throw up and get away from his as fast as possible. It was more of a calm and serene feeling.

Without much thought, you walked up to Baji and took his bigger hand in between yours. Just like the way you understood his unspoken feelings then, you did now as well. "I understand, Baji-san. I'll see you soon."

As you sent Baji a smile that came from the heavens, he couldn't help but stare dumbfoundedly. His eyes travelled from your smiling face to your hands that warmly wrapped around his own. With his mind going haywire, Baji pulled his hand away from you before swiftly wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into a tight embrace.

"Come back soon, okay?" He whispered into your ears. For the nth time in the last five minutes, your eyes widened as your hands floated in the air, unsure of what to do. Should you hug him back? Should you pat him on the head? Before your mind can come up with an answer, Baji had already pulled away and swiftly turned you around, pushing you out the door.
