You were my golden hour
a beautiful golden sun
that used to shine all day long
that used to calm me down
I was your little sparrow
the smallest bird all around
that used to be so happy every morning
that used to be so sad every night
For I wished for days to be longer
for the dark to never take your light
but I couldn't make the Earth stop moving
and my cries never escaped my short sight
So I tried to get much closer
dived into the sea of blue
but the coldness took me over
and I felt the lack of warmth in you
I don't wait for your beauty
to make my warmer days
I don't wait for your leads
to help my heart from its maze
I learned to express feelings
not only through painful cries
I learned to hope for something
that hides in someone's eyes
I enjoy now both nights and days
new hopes grow, and old slowly fade
New warmth comes and go
as seasons that we know
So listen close my fellow sparrow
little as we think we are
there's someone waiting
to hear our songs and cries
