Dear You,
I just woke up, and though the sunlight is streaming through the window, running its warm fingers down my back, I can only think of the darkness that will come soon...
Nonetheless, here's the promised second part of the little occurence from yesterday
(Flashback/Story continues)
Darkness became light, and revealed...
The ceiling.
"Connor Lin! You little cheat! Show your face right now!" Jasmine demanded, throwing her hands up in exasperation. I was still stuck in my awkward position where I fell on top of Jasmine, but she didn't seem to notice.
"Whose that on top of you?" I heard Connor, ask. I could almost feel his smirk through the virtual screen.
"That's my friend, Rosaline, now flipping point the camera at your face or else I'll..." stopping in midsentence, Jasmine seemed at a loss for words while she thought of a good threat.
"Alright, alright. You win, Jazz, but you owe me one," Connor finally switched the camera back down.
"Why would I?" Jasmine argued, but by now, I wasn't paying attention to her talking. All I saw was a really cute boy's face on-screen in front of me.
Connor had a slim face and a well-defined jaw. His jet-black hair was tousled, and swept across the front of his face a bit, but not covering his eyebrows or eyes. Connor's eyes were a deep shade of brown, similar to my own.
To sum it up, Connor was really cute for Asian boy standards.
But besides his cute factor, there was something else about him that caught my eye. Something familiar... But I couldn't put my finger on it.
I watched silently as Jasmine and Connor conversed.
"Yo, are you home?" Jasmine asked.
"Yup. My parents aren't though, so I just took the video camera. I'm gonna have to put it back when they come back though," Connor responded.
"That's fine," Jasmine said, then went on to talk to Connor about some fundraising event they were holding at their school.
By now, I had zoned out, and I was still pondering over where I had possibly seen Connor before... He looked so fam-
"I got it!" I suddenly shouted loudly, making Jasmine whip around to stare at me, and I saw Connor's eyes trail over too. I guess my sudden outburst contradicted with my shy behavior earlier, but I really didn't care.
I scooted back closer to the screen. "I know you Connor," I said, "You're in my volleyball class in Chinese school!" I exclaimed, pretty sure that I was right.
"Really?" Connor raised an eyebrow, not sure if I was being serious or not.
"Yeah... You're Connor Lin right? The one that everyone in our class yells at when you mess up? The one that's the best in our class?" I fired off a chain of questions, not at all shy to voice my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm the one. What are you doing, stalking me?" Connor joked, smiling a little, but he quickly took his eyes off me. Jasmine sat quietly nearby, observing our conversation.
"You never noticed I was in your class?" I asked, a little annoyed. Come on, I wasn't that invisible. Among all the younger kids in the beginner class that I had signed up for because it was my first year trying out volleyball, I was a tall, lanky giant, and my blackish-purple-rimmed glasses made me stand out too.
"Ummm... no...?" Connor replied, still looking at the bottom of his screen. He must've been reading some other chats or something.
"Oh..." I trailed off. I felt a little disappointed, somehow. I wasn't that hard to miss, was I?
As Jasmine took her spotlight again and started to strike up a chat with someone else, I saw Connor quiet down and stare intently at the bottom of his screen. I could hear him furiously typing away by the loud clicking sounds of his fingers tapping the keys.
Suddenly, I felt a bit ignored. A bit shunned. A bit lonely.
I had the urge to have an outburst just to make things a bit more lively.
So I did.
I don't remember what exactly I had done, but I knew I did some crazy thing just to make you laugh. Jasmine started spewing off remarks about my randomness, but I didn't care. I loved every single moment of it, and it was genuine from the bottom of my heart.
And Connor's laugh. It was darn right the most adorable thing I had ever heard.
His laugh was like a breeze of cool air on a scalding hot summer day. This may sound cliche, but it had a magical twinkle to it that simply can't be described. It was throaty, but so heartfelt.
It was in that moment that my heart melted.
And it was that moment that would lead to the shattering of my heart too.
The moment that would leave me picking up the broken pieces and wondering how to put them back together again.
I think we'll discuss another event tomorrow.
Sweet dreams,
Rose
~~This is UNEDITED, once again. If you didn't already know, this is a true story. I am trying my best to recreate the scenes as close as possible to what actually happened (though some minor details may be changed if I forgot what actually happened). The names of the characters are changed though, for personal reasons.
Anyways, sorry about the long wait for the chapter. I kinda had writer's block. It's not so easy writing Non-Fiction! Btw this will also be a short story. It will be AT MOST 10 letters, I believe. Probably not that many.
Well if you enjoyed, please leave a vote or comment. I love you guys! :DD~~
