*Trigger warning*
Chapter Nineteen: So This Is LoveEddie and Luna had officially taken their relationship to the next level. Luna didn't think it was safe to be living together. She was worried that once they started seeing each other everyday that they would grow tired or bored of one another. But then she weighed the options and she talked with a very smart woman about what she should do.
And now she was subletting her apartment and moving in with her boyfriend. She was evolving into a different Luna, this woman who wasn't so closed off. Who vowed to change her life when she moved to L.A. and that's what she was doing. Trying her hardest to experience everything life had to offer. But also letting her heart love again. That was a big deal and she was proud to be working on it.
Luna and Athena were working the case of the realtor rapist. It pissed her off. They had him right there in custody and then he left. He just picked up and left. And now they had to figure out where he was. They needed to for the safety of those women. Luna got a profile about him from Derek after she sent him the case.
"It's 2020. How is it possible that this man just disappeared into thin air?"
" No movement on his credit cards. He hasn't been back to his house or his office. Still looking for the car, but he'll turn up." Lou the lead Detective on the case says he sits down on the edge of his desk.
" And then what? Even if we find him, we still don't have any physical evidence that proves he raped anyone. No fingerprints, no DNA. Just videos of a man in a mask attacking these women."
" Still blaming yourself for losing him? Because you didn't." Lou says to Athena and the two women who sigh.
" We had him." Luna was just as annoyed as her partner.
" Not your fault. In fact, you're the reason why he's in hiding right now instead of targeting his next victim."
" As long as he's still out there free, there's always gonna be a next victim." Luna says as Athena nods.
Mendez knocks on the door, " Captain's office is set up. They're bringing the first woman in now."
" Yeah. All right, thank you."
" Captain's office?" Lou questions.
" Yeah. Didn't seem right to put 'em in the interrogation room."
It was video after video and question after question Luna's head hurt and she was angrier by the minute.
" We need confirmation. Is that you in the video?" Lou asked.
" That's me. But that angle..."
" He put a camera in the smoke detector." Athena explains.
"He knew my house. How to get in, where to hide, where to put a camera. How? He studied you. He used a drone to stalk his targets. He learned your patterns, your movements." all these women went through hell and back.
