Cain was invited to Meili's house for a cup of tea. She missed the times when it was just the two of them, so she never declined her humble invitations. Well, she also never declined her invitations so she could get promotions and raises easier..
It was so surreal to see the timid little Meili grow up to own a humongous mansion and have servants scattered about the place.. in fact, it left Cain a little jealous.. "so, it's been a while since I've visited.. it only feels like the place has gotten even bigger." Cain laughed. "Renovations." Meili stoically replied. There was one question on Cain's mind that had been trying to break out for ages, but of course, she was far too cowardly to actually ask it without looking like a total fool.. "wow.. big house, a big company, lots of respect.. I don't know how you did it!" Cain asked as she carefully hinted at her big question.. "I know, impressive isn't it?" Meili muttered with a slight smirk. Cain was frustrated.. she was waiting with great anticipation for her boss to spill the secret to her success.. eventually, she couldn't hold her tongue any longer "uh! How did you change like that? How did you go from nothing, to owning everything? I know I didn't finish school like you, but my social skills are far better than yours! I should be the CEO!" Cain complained. Only seconds after she had foolishly displayed her rotting humanity, she sunk into her seat and waited anxiously to lose her job on the spot.. Meili's servant who was standing in the room at that time had an expression that showed off her second-hand embarrassment..
Meili only sighed. "I inherited it all from my family." She calmly replied. Cain had sunk so deep into her chair that she felt as if she was going to fall right through it. Meili could tell that Cain was preparing to be fired, but she also knew that she was an idiot who had no chance of a life without her company holding her by the strings like a puppet. Before Meili could tell Cain that she was not angry with her at all, Cain made the worst decision of her entire life.. "you inherited it? You mean I was right? I knew you didn't have any skill of running a company..". This set Meili off far more than it should have. "You're fired."
Before Cain had time to react, both women heard a low rumbling noise growing louder and louder.. suddenly, the ground began to shake.. was it an earthquake? No, they were never this violent.. they were never this.. eerie..
