Enoch was 14 now. She watched the news while drinking her soda.. news stories like this never filled her with fear.. they were more like entertainment. Bizarre and horrible things that occur in the world around her being presented to her on a big screen TV was so fascinating to her. Her adoptive father, Naerin, walked into the room at sat down beside her. "Are you sure you want to watch this? It's far too depressing, don't you think?" he asked as he was clearly uncomfortable. "I'm sure, dad. It's good to know what happens in the world, isn't it? I wanna stay alert. Plus, it's in a neighbouring city, so I need to know about this stuff." Enoch lied. She was just bored and was excited by the news stories. Whether they were real or not didn't matter to her.

"Hey, that reporter looks a lot like Nikolai, don't you think?" Enoch asked. "That's her. You have a good eye." Naerin smiled. "I always wondered what your friends at church did for a living." Enoch laughed. "I'll be sure to watch this channel more often then" She smiled. "Speaking of church, it's almost 8:00, the first service will be starting then." Naerin reminded her. Enoch immediately jumped off the couch and disposed of her empty soda can, she then rushed to her room to get ready.

Once Enoch and Naerin arrived, they were flooded with attention as always. And as usual, Enoch snuck away to watch the lake beside the balcony. She wasn't used to so much positive attention.. nobody ever brought up her eye, even though they were aware of what it looked like before she covered it. She was definitely grateful, just new to it all.. she suddenly got a really uneasy feeling as she stood and watched the fish in the lake.. she turned around but didn't see anybody there.. "I could've sworn there was someone looking at me or something.."

Once the first service had finished and Enoch could finally chat with her father, she rushed to him with a big smile on her face as usual. "Hey dad!" She chirped. Naerin smiled. "I kind of need to tell you something." Enoch said with a sudden change in tone. This alerted Naerin and he payed full attention to her. "What is it?" He asked. "Well, it's probably nothing, but when we first got here, I waited by the balcony as usual, but I got this really uneasy feeling, like someone was watching me? I don't know how to explain it.. I wasn't anxious or anything.. it was just eerie.." she replied nervously. Naerin sighed "it's probably all of that true crime you've been watching. Maybe we should cut down your screen time. And don't worry, Enoch. Nobody is watching you. You're fine." He reassured her. Enoch smiled again. And it felt like huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She was only calm when her father was there to reaffirm the most positive option.
