And the cowboy hat rule is back! Sorry this took so long.

Third Person's P.O.V.
"Oh Sheriff!" Scar called as he knocked on the door of the former's house, "I need to ask you a question. Well, more than one question actually. I have so many build ideas that I think would really help to bring Tumble Town to life. Not that it isn't lively already! Tumble Town is great! But I want to contribute while I'm here and-"
Scar cut off his ramblings as he realized Jimmy had yet to make an appearance at the door. That was odd. From what he's heard from the empire's residents, the Sheriff is always quick to answer his door unless he's injured. And Scar knows for a fact that Jimmy isn't injured, so what's the hold up? It was also much too early for him to be tending to any Tumble Town business. There weren't any emergencies that needed to be dealt with promptly either. The rooster had yet to crow since the sun hasn't dipped above the horizon. So once again, what's the hold up?
The Hermit stared curiously at the Sheriff's door before knocking again. This time, he rapped his knuckles against the wood a bit harder. The knocking sound reverberated louder as a result but after a couple minutes, there was still no response. Now Scar was getting worried. Why was Jimmy taking so long to answer the door? Did something happen to him? Was he hurt? Did he need help and Scar was only prolonging getting it to him by standing outside his door and thinking about everything that could be wrong?
Scar shook his head to get rid of the panicky thoughts that started to swirl in his mind. Now was not the time to go in a downward spiral. The Sheriff could need his assistance! Or Scar could be overreacting. Either was possible. There was only one way to find out which was true.
"Sheriff?" Scar called out as he banged on the door. He opened his mouth to continue calling out to Jimmy as his other hand slid down to the doorknob. However, only a yelp left his lips as he twisted the doorknob and the door swung open. Scar stumbled forward and nearly fell over at the unexpectedness of it. The Hermit braced himself against the now open door as he recovered from the fright he'd just received, but it bubbled right back up as a chilling thought crossed his mind.
"Why was the Sheriff's door unlocked?"
Scar leaned off of the door and whipped his head around. From his panicked glancing, nothing seemed to be amiss in the entryway. All the decorative trinkets were where it was supposed to be but that didn't put Scar at ease. If anything, it only made him more concerned. Just because nothing was wrong here didn't mean that there couldn't be anything wrong further inside. So, Scar ventured deeper into Jimmy's house. He was careful not to disturb any of the furnishings as he made his way through. Each step unsettled Scar more and more as nothing seemed out of place. Everything was perfect yet there was still no sign of the sheriff.
Finally, he reached Jimmy's bedroom. The door was slightly ajar and the floorboards creaked as Scar approached. Definitely not worrying at all. The hermit gulped nervously and, out of politeness, knocked on the door. The action only made the door creak open wider. Scar slowly peered inside and scanned the room.
It was empty.
Well... almost.
The sheriff wasn't in his bedroom, that much was evident. His bed was empty and the sheets weren't spread. It looked like he'd left in a hurry. That leads to the not so empty part of the room. Jimmy's nightstand which housed one of, it not the most important item the sheriff owned.
His cowboy hat.
Now, Scar has only been in Tumble Town for a couple days but he's already learned of how protective Jimmy is of his sheriff's hat. It was somewhat explained to him when he first arrived on the server but it wasn't all that clear. There seemed to be more to it even as Jimmy allowed him to wear it for that short while. Like there was some significance to someone else wearing it that Jimmy was embarrassed about. Obviously, it piqued Scar's interest and he really wanted to find out. Now seemed like the perfect and perhaps the only opportunity he'd get to satisfy his curiosity. So, Scar decided to do the unthinkable.
