Chapter 10
"WATCH OUT" we both yelled at the same time, drawing our weapons. The hellhound growled, circling us. We stood back to back weapons in hand. My sword was in my right hand and my throwing knife was in my left. Zoe readied her Sword and leveled it at the beast. "Matt, you attack from the left, I'll go from the right!" She screamed as we both charged. I leapt to the left, executing a slash that grazed the monster's side. It yelped in pain as Zoe's blade sliced into its other side. The hellhound roared in pain, leaping at Zoe, claws raised. Zoe screamed as the claws raked her arm and pierced her armour. I brought my sword down with all my might as the hellhound as it lunged for her, but suddenly there was a yelp, and I looked up to see a sword sticking through the hellhound's back. The full force of my attack threw me to the floor as the beast exploded into dust. "Ugh," I said, getting up and wiping the mud off my face. Zoe got up as well, and we both grabbed our weapons. "Dude, let's get outta here!"
