Chapter 11

After the near-death encounter with the hellhound, we hi-tailed it out of there, flying up into the evening sun. We flew until about 4:30 pm before landing in another part of the forest. Zoe clutched her wounds, "Gahh, it hurts!" She yelped as she got off her pegasi. Now that we had landed, I could see the hellhound's cuts better. "ZOE! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!?!" I yelled, angry with myself that I hadn't noticed them sooner. The claw marks were pretty deep and nasty. I grabbed some Ambrosia from my bag and chucked it to her. She took a small piece in her mouth and chewed it. "That's better," She said as the godly food began to heal her. The wounds shrunk, but they were still quite deep. "I might not be a healer like the Apollo campers, but I do know some things. Those cuts need to be cleaned and bandaged. Take your armour off." I said. Zoe removed her chestplate and what I saw was bad. Her shirt was covered in blood and sweat and mud. "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT THIS?!?! FOR A CHILD OF WISDOM, THAT ISN'T VERY WISE!" I yelled. Being a son of Ares, I could get angry fast, so I took a few deep breaths, "Sorry Zoe. I'll get some water from the creek over there" I said, pointing over the hill. "I might not be Percy Jackson, but I know what water sounds like" With that, I grabbed my empty water bottle and sprinted down to the creek.
