-Time Skip-
Ugh... my head hurts... I blink rapidly until I get adjusted to the light in the room. There was a lamp to the right of me that had it's arm stretched over me so that the light was in my face as soon as I woke up. I slowly begin to sit up as I make sure my head doesn't hit the lamp.
I realize I'm on top of the table in the room where me and Father were last in. Speaking of Father, where is he? "Father?" I say lowly, barely audible. "Look who's awake." I heard him say from behind me. I twist my body to look in the opposite direction I was facing. He came through the door with a light smile.
He walked up to the table I was sitting on as I fix my body to dangle my legs off the edge of the table while still sitting on it. He was now standing in front of me. "You were out for a while." He stated. "I was actually starting to worry you wouldn't wake up." He mumbled under his breath as I saw a glint of worry in his eyes.
"You were out cold for nearly twelve hours." He chuckled. "Sorry..." I mumbled as I looked to the side. Nearly twelve hours... Why do I still feel tired? I yawn and let my body fall backwards onto the table and cover my eyes from the light with my left arm. I could feel Father's eyes still on me. "Still tired, huh?" He said softly.
"Mhm." I responded. "Well I'm sure a table isn't comfortable for you." He stated. "Let's go." He said. I let out a deep sigh. I don't feel like getting up or walking all the way home. I decide to get up anyway, but slowly, as I do not have energy. As I sat back up in my original position, I hold my head and rub my temples as I feel a migraine coming along.
Father takes a step back, allowing me to get off the table and stand up. We are now standing in front of each other but while he looks at me, I refuse to make eye contact. I turn my head towards the door, waiting for him to make the first move. I can feel him analyzing me. I don't know why he's looking at me so intensely.
I turned to look at him with a confused expression on my face. He smiles. A genuine smile... I don't remember the last time I saw my Father smile like this. "What's wrong?" I ask. His gaze softens. "Nothing. Let's go." He says as he starts walking. Weird... At least, I thought it was weird at first. Now I just feel... at peace. I can't explain it.
I feel lighter. Like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Does this mean that... he's not mad? I mean, he sent me down here to free my sister, but I ended up dying in the process. He relied on me to save her but I was the one that needed saving in the end. Why did I think he would be mad at me? I still got her out. Even if I died while doing it.
But... he comforted me while I was crying. He usually never does that. Does that mean...? Does that mean he's proud of me? I made him proud? I... made him... proud. I made him proud! I felt a smile creeping up on my face slowly. I couldn't help it. It was an uncontrollable smile. We were silent the rest of the way back home.
But it wasn't a stifling silence. It was a comfortable one. We shared the silence and peace between us. It was like a temporary truce. I decided to enjoy it while I can. Once we get back home he might change his attitude in front of Henry. Henry... OH MY GOD. HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT HIM???
I can't believe I've been gone for this long... He must be worried sick. It's almost three in the morning. I wonder if he slept at all. I start to speed walk towards the house and leave Father behind. I can hear him pick up his pace to match mine as he keeps up with me. I can't believe I forgot about him.
I hope he's not mad at me. As we eventually made it to the house I sighed in relief. It looks like the lights are out which hopefully means that Henry's asleep. I frantically begin searching for the keys in my pockets until I finally manage to retrieve it. I opened the door slowly and quietly and walked inside.
I notice the TV was the only thing lighting up the living room. I see Henry in the couch, fast asleep. I sighed. I went in front of him to search for the TV remote. I then realized he had it in his hand. I began to slowly and carefully take it out of his hand while holding my breath as to not wake him up. It probably took me a minute or two to get the remote from him safely.
As I retrieved it, I turned around and turned the TV off. I then proceeded to walk to the closet. I opened it and grabbed a small blanket. I then closed the closet door and walked over to Henry, who was still fast asleep. As I opened the blanket I leaned forward slightly and tried to lay the blanket on top of him until I heard a very loud cough. *COUGH*
A very loud and exaggerated cough that made me flinch. I looked to the corner of the room to find Father grinning and his arms crossed. I gave him a death stare. I then proceeded with laying out the blanket on Henry. As I finished that, I stood back up and sighed. Even though I was so tired I couldn't go back to sleep.
I can't leave this maniac alone with Henry. It's too late to sleep anyway. It's almost four... Maybe I should make breakfast for Henry when we wakes up to make it up to him. But for now I'm going to change into more comfortable clothes. I walk upstairs quietly to my room and I hear another pair of footsteps follow me.
As I made it up the stairs I said, "I'm changing, don't follow me." in a tired tone. I go into my room and close the door in behind me. I grab a white plain shirt and a purple pajama pants and quickly changed into that. I call Father into my room as I grab the remote for the TV and get on the bed.
I put on a movie as I make myself comfortable under the sheets. Father goes on the other side of the bed and sits down. We both sit there in silence as the movie plays. This will help pass the time until Henry wakes up.
