"Michael?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was at Henry's house. "H- Henry...?" I asked, addled. "Oh thank goodness you're okay..." He sighed in relief. "What happened?" I asked as I sat up, still confused. "I don't know..." Henry admitted sheepishly.
"I just woke up to find we were both back here." He informed blankly. "Why would they bring us back here after all that trouble?" He asked, starting to go deep in thought. "Haha, funny thing about that..." I chuckled nervously. He broke his train of thought and looked at me with concern.
"Father may have, kind of, sort of, put a tracking bracelet on me..." I admitted, feeling embarrassed. Henry's eyes grew wide. He rolled up my sleeve to see it. "He said something about not being able to take it off." I said blankly. "But he could've said that to prevent you from trying anything." He informed.
Henry fidgeted with the bracelet for almost fifteen minutes now trying to get it off me. "Henry, I think you just pulled it a little too tight..." I said as I was hissing in pain. He responded immediately and slackened it again. "Sorry Michael..." He apologized while still focusing.
He hasn't been able to find a way yet. I'm starting to actually think there's no way for this thing to come off... "Henry, it's fine. We can worry about it another time." I sighed, feeling defeated. "Are you sure?" He asked concerned. "Yeah, I'm gonna check on Helpy." I said, trying to change the conversation as I got up from the couch.
I started to look around the house to see where Helpy was. I checked all of downstairs and he wasn't anywhere there. I went up the stairs and opened the door to my room to find- "Helpy! What happened to you!?" I yelled anxiously. I ran up to Helpy who was powered off on my shelf. I turned him around and pressed the power button.
I waited for a minute for Helpy to fully turn on. "Mike?" Helpy asked. I sighed in relief. "There was a man that looked exactly like you..." He said in a shy voice. "What did the man do to you?" I asked him in a blank tone. "He had a crowbar in his hand so I was scared." He started in a sheepish tone.
"He picked me up and said 'I won't break you if you don't cause any trouble' so I listened to him..." He explained. "Are you mad at me...?" He asked, feeling ashamed. "No, of course not. You were very brave." I said to reassure him. We both exchanged smiles. "Did you see anything else that the man did?" I asked.
"No, he powered me off after that..." Helpy informed. I sighed. "As long as you're not hurt." I said in a soft tone. I picked up Helpy and brought him downstairs with me. I put him to stand up on the dining table where Henry was deep in thought. He was probably still trying to find a way to get the bracelet off of me.
"Mr. Emily!" Helpy said enthusiastically which made Henry snap out of his thoughts. "Hello Helpy..." Henry said in a soft tone with a smile at the end of his sentence. "Father turned off Helpy so he couldn't see what he did." I said in a blank tone as I glanced to my left. "I figured he would do that." Henry sighed.
I saw something shining on the kitchen counter so I decided to check out what it was. Once I got to the kitchen counter, I saw it was the pocket knife that Vanny had stabbed me with. I flicked the knife open and I saw a folded piece of paper. I grabbed the paper and scanned through it. 'Sorry I stabbed you. Can't promise that I won't stab you again.'
I scoffed at this. What makes her think I'll forgive her just like that? I crumbled the note and kept it in my hand. "Whose knife is that?" Henry asked from behind me. "It's Father's assistant's knife." I sighed. I felt Henry's eyes grow wide. "And yes, he does have an assistant.
Hard to believe, I know." I said blankly as I flicked the knife closed. "This makes things more complicated." I stated as I made my hands into fists. I'll have to be more alert now. I just can't believe he got an assistant...
-Time Skip-
I sat down on the side of my bed with my back facing the window. I closely examined the bracelet and fiddled with it for about five minutes until giving up. I let out a sigh of frustration. I looked at a hung picture on the wall in front of me. It was a picture of me and Henry back when I was a teenager.
Things were so much easier back then. I didn't have to deal with Father's mess and clean up after him. I didn't have to worry about whether I would die at my job or not. I wonder what would've happened if we never died the way we did... Maybe life would be more simple... Maybe I wouldn't have to deal with Father's consequences.
If only he wasn't so selfish enough to kill children for immortality. Then all of our lives would be so much easier. "Hey sweetie." I heard a female voice call out to me from behind using a sweet voice. That voice sounded familiar... I turned around to see none other than- "Why are you here!?" I yelled in shock and anger.
"Oh c'mon, don't be like that." Vanny said. "I still haven't forgiven you for what you did to me." I replied harshly. She smirked at this. She walked closer to me at a slow pace as I got up from the bed and turned around to face her. I tensed my body up to prepare myself for an attack.
Just as she was two steps in front of me, she pulled me by my tie and brought my face closer to hers. She leaned in towards me and then-
