Many years ago there was a legendary ship, called the miraculous, with it's infamous captain, the dread pirate Ladybug. It was said that this crew of immortal pirates only stole from the most expensive ships and towns, leaving poorer villages alone. What most people don't know is that the role of captain was a mantle, passed down from person to person. Marinette had spent three years aboard the miraculous as one of the crewmates, Multimouse, wielding the mouse miraculous. She was the youngest of the crew, only being a teenager while the rest were in there 50s. Marinettes captain pulled her aside one day to reveal that the rest of the crewmates were ready to retire from the pirate life, as there old bodies couldn't keep up. The captain then gave Marinette the Ladybug earrings and told her to set out and make her own crew. Mari began to scowered the world, looking for allies her age to build a crew of legends. Her first Crewmate was Prince Adrien, a noble who wanted to explore the world, but was kept locked in his castle by his overprotective parents, being trained to become the next king, witch he didn't want to be. Marinette offered him a place on her crew as her first mate, Cat Noir. Others she met were, Princess Kagami, who came from a similar situation to Adrien, who became Ryuko. Luka and Juleka Couffaine, the children of a famous pirate who Mari rescued from the gallows. They became Viperon and Purple Tigress respectively. Eventualy she recruits an entire crew of miraculous weilders, and they travel the world.
