꧁𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵꧂ 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 — marlowe is trully one with many layers. the mask she has on around others is not at all who she is when she's with people she trusts or when she's alone. her father has certain expectations of who she should be as a princess, but that's not her. her father is a man who longs for power, more than he already has, and wishes for his children to be as ambitious as him. from what she has seen her eldest brother seems to be doing that, or heading that direction, but she isn't so sure about that. to the outside world, she's a headstrong, spoiled, stubborn princess. one who doesn't ask but demands, who cares about herself and no one else. she's not generally liked by visitors who are only there for a short time, but she has learned to live with that. cause in reality, she is not like that at all. marlowe is actually really kind and softhearted, way more than her father would prefer. if it was up to her, their kingdom would leave in peace with everyone else and she wouldn't care about who has the most land or sea. she's very romantic. she loves to read books and make up stories, let herself be taken away by a fantasy life that could never be her own. she hardly lets her guard down. most servants have seen her true self at some point, but never around her father. her brothers are a different story, she trusts them. especially her own twin. but now with the new girls coming in? it's gonna be one hêll of an acting job to keep it up. but she doesn't trust them - for now anyways - so it shouldn't be too hard. 𝗵𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 — spending time in the gardens, reading, sailing, traveling, baking in the kitchens, riding her horse, writing her own stories, photography, swimming, working on pretty dresses with her seamstress 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 — warm weather, books, the smell of rain, baking, horsebackriding, the water, romance, photography, chocolate, piano, spending time with her brothers, having alone time, butterflies, tea, pastries, embroidery 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 — the way her father behaves, pretending, two faced people, the intention of the selection, strangers, being the center of attention, being cooped up inside 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 — she's scared she will one day turn out like her father did after all. her mother isn't here to guide her anymore, and maybe his influences will eventually get through. and she's absolutely terrified she won't ever find her own true love story. with the way she to present herself versus wanting to be who she is, who can trully love her for her? and then there's also birds. she's highly terrified of birds. will literally freak.
꧁𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓬꧂ 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 — she has some very mixed thoughts about the entire thing. while she is somewhat excited to have other girls coming down here and maybe possibly even see her brother find love, she's really not all that happy that so many strangers are invading her home and she thinks the whole purpose of the selection is useless. while she may be a true romantic, she doesn't see any romance in this. itMs all for duty. you should marry because of love, not duty. be she supposes that is what it means to be a royal, especially the heir. she's gonna try to make the best of it, be friendly with the girls, but she hasn't fully decided how she feels about it. 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 — has a true eye for fashion. she loves to design her new ones together with her seamstress and is always trying to find jewelry that match it — she has a hard time dealing with her mother being gone. she's been gone for years now, and she never fully understood what happened to her — also very much a plant mom. she visits the gardens pretty much every day. to read, relax, observe the flowers and plants, track their progress, anything. her entire room is also filled with all sorts of greenery
