𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
— aspen is your true definition of the second born prince. growing up, he just wasn't important enough to look at. he had an older brother who would one day take the throne, and there was no reason why he shouldn't. he has trully always lived in the shadows of his brother and no one bothered to look after him, so he took advantage of that. while he is very independent and hates people trying to help him with things or deciding things for him, he has absolutely no sense of responsibility whatsoever. he has never been taught to care, and so he hasn't. he knows he's a prince and should keep up a good image and blablabla, but who cares? once his brother is king, he'll simply be the kings brother and his children will become the new heirs. the shadow he was in will just become darkness, no light that's gonna shine on him then. he's very charismatic and loves to flirt with people though. he's not someone who really believes in love, but who knows. he's not ready to commit to anything though, and despises this entire idea. girls coming to apparently fight for their hearts- ha. good joke. he's just here to have a good time, that's all. atleast he gets to stay home, silver lining he supposes. he's very carefree. he can never take anything serious and is always trying to make jokes and make fun of everything. he finds it pretty hard to see the clues to when he has to be serious, which causes... interesting situation to say the least.
𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆
— aspen was the second born son to the king and queen, and therefore really not that important. they already had a son, an established heir that they would need to raise to be king. another son? well, he would surely just learn from his older brother! no need to pay attention to that. they wanted one of both you know? so they tried for another baby, and their precious little princess was born, the family now being complete. so lennox got all the attention and was taught many things about how to be a king, while his sister rowan was taught how to be a proper princess and was the precious little jewel. and then there was aspen, somewhere in the middle, somewhat forgotten, hidden between the two other children. so if no one pays attention to you.. then why bother to act anything like they expect him to without being taught anything? if he could, he'd throw his crown into the sea and run away as far as possible, but unfortunately there is still a little light that shines on him that keeps him from doing that. maybe one day though..
𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀
— travelling. while he hasn't done much of that since they require to stay at the castle most of the time, his wish is to leave home and see more of the world. he's not made to be in one place forever. he's desperately hoping to make his way out of the palace. perhaps escaping during the selection isn't even a bad idea.
— chocolate. how could anyone /not/ like chocolate, right?
— painting. it's something barely anyone knows about him. of the places he /has/ been, he likes to paint pictures of and capture the moment. while he loves doing it and is rather skilled, he doesn't like people seeing his work. he doesn't want people to see that side of him. so his room is off limits to any guest.
𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀
— the current relationship he has with his siblings. while he loves them, they're his siblings after all, he doesn't like they're current relationship. they're very distant, and he wishes it wouldn't be like that.
— his childhood. while being raised as a prince is great and all, he desperately wanted some more attention from his parents. he was labeled as the problem child solely because he just acted out for love. he doesn't talk about, but he definitely wished it hadn't gone like that
— big animals. anything like horses, elephants, big dogs, anything. he does not like them at all. it's just the fact that they can knock him down that easily that makes him freak out. he avoids the stables at all costs, but tries to do it as sneakily as possible so no one knows.
𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀
— love & family are his greatest fears. he's deeply terrified of having to commit to something, especially now with the selection because.. who knows with what kind of person you might end up with? what if he ultimately has to choose between people that don't want what he wants? and even if he does find someone, most people want children, no? what if he turns out like his own parents? not providing equal attention and making a child feel like he did as a kid? nope nope nope, doesn't wanna think about it.

𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿
— since he /has/ to partake in the selection, his hopes to atleast find someone who wants to see the world with him. it doesn't have to be true love for him. good friends is good enough for him to be honest.
— literally has no clue what he wants to do in life. sure, he's set for a life as a prince but- wouldn't his life be meaningless as just a second born prince? he wants to leave his own stamp in the world, or atleast do something meaningful for someone.
