***Maya's P. O. V."

After telling them about my past, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep so I went in the living room and watched television for the rest of the night. Nate left awhile after tending to me, with his head down, walking out the house, not saying a word to me. Which I knew would happen. Shayne didn't even bother coming down to look for me.

I wake up the next morning on the couch, no visible life around. I guess I'm home alone. I got up and went to take a bath, making sure not to wet my hand. The other cuts were slowly healing. I got out and dressed in a pair of short pants and a lose top, that fell of my shoulders. I went back downstairs to see a woman in the kitchen cleaning up.

"Hi." I said.

"Hi. I thought you were sleeping."

"No I'm up awhile now. Who are you?"

She started walking towards me and I backed away. She saw my reaction and stopped.

"I'm Ann, the maid. I usually come when no one is home or you're sleeping."

"Okay, I'm Melanie." I say not wanting her to know my real name.

She chuckled like I said something funny, "You don't have to worry, I know who you are and I took an oath to secrecy or the boss will have my head."

Her head?

"Oh you mean he's going to go off on you?"

"Yeah right." I hear the sarcasm in her voice but left it.

She looked like she was a few years older than me.

"So do you just clean?"

"I do whatever the boss wants."

"Okay."

I opened the fridge to see my options for breakfast, there was many food in here.

"Are you hungry?" She asked.

"Yes, why?"

"The boss told me to take care of you, anything you need, I provide. So what do you want?"

"Eggs, I guess."

"Omelet style?"

"Yes please."

Soon it was finished and in front of me with toast and apple juice.

I ate the delicious meal, then the door opened. I see Nate walk in.

"Hi." I say to him.

"Hi, Shayne sent me to check on you."

"Okay." I said continuing eating my food. "Do you know where he put my car?"

"It's in the shop, he is having it fixed up so it doesn't over heat anymore. Most girls would ask for a new car, why keep that dump?"

"I love that car and it loves me."

He laughs and stops when he finally sees Ann.

"Hello beautiful." He says smiling to her.

"Hi, jackass."

"Come on baby."

"Don't baby me."

"Want to visit me tonight?"

"No." She said going to wash up the dishes.

He turned his attention to me when I asked, "So are you two together?"

"I wish but she keeps rejecting me." He says loud enough for her to hear.

"I gave you a chance already and you blew me off." She said.
